| Building a car trailer for my Honcho.
Hi all, I've been building for some months now and thought the time has come to show my trailer build so far. Plenty of pics, but pics tell more than words. Its is a trailer for my Honcho. All know honcho are quite large, tough on scale. So the trailer had to be huge! Some specs that i wanted on it. -Four wheels. -4 fully seperate suspensions. -Needs to be metal. -Closed trailer, coach type. -Loading hatch wich is controlled by remote. -Nice painting First thing to do, make some drawings on how i want it. Chassis Coach plating Suspension Then i went to see a friend wich is good with metal. He made the basics, coach and chassis Further with suspension. Had to make the axles short and seperate, some old parts are used here. Bending the fenders For the inside floor i searched for some nice wood or wood look material. Oke, by this time its roughly build. So i wanted to know what it was going to look like . Maybe the wheel are bit too small.? not sure yet. After that, i went to sand the whole thing. Trailer hitch, have to think some more about it. But this way i can make anything from it After sanding it i begun to spray the chassis and suspension parts. Then to put the chassis back together again. And this is what it looks at this moment, waiting for some parts to proceed. Sneak preview To do: Make the hatch work. Make hitch complete. Spray and sticker the coach. And after that i need to finish the vehicle that has to tow this monster. To be continued! |

Pretty impressive. What type/kind of metal and joining process did you use?

Looking good, I personally think the wheels are a bit on the small side but other than that it looks killer. Keep up the good work.

| Re: Building a car trailer for my Honcho. THAT my friend, is the right question. No idea yet, but the chassis isnt that heavy. im more concerned about the coach and hatch. Plus my car weighs about 10-12 pnds i think. I'll have to weigh all things i guess. Im getting some ordered items in the mail today and will be working on the hatch. Hopefully my idea for the hatch will work. |

Finally got my package from the postman. Whats in it? A remote controlled red winch Some bolds and nuts 2mm steelcable, about 4 meter, 12 feet i think. and a lipo for the winch. 500Mah. nice small one. Now the idea i had for the hatch. Build the winch in the trailer at the front inside. Make a way that the cable follows the bend in the roof. Then attach 2 cables to the corners of the hatch. I'm using some metal ball-studs from thunder tiger. Placing the cable-gliders on the corners of the roof-end makes the cables go easy down the ball-studs. Directly behind the ball-studs i made a bar and attached the 2 ends of the cables. Trying to figure out on how to attach the other ends of the cables to the hatch. Got to be strong, the hatch alone is like 3 pounds! Here is the proto setup. It works, but needs detailing. btw, thanks for the nice words! GJ |

Trying to get the coach painted. but damn, its hard to do with a spraycan..... I'll get back on it when i get it done and see what the results are.. I can respray it easily. But i also have a deadline to work with. All has to be running before the 16th of september. And the car infront isnt ready yet either... so i'll get back on the weight a bit later. flex shots? well, it got some fllex but it is an on-road trailer. gts GJ |

Finally! The trailer is finished, just need to do the details to complete it. This will be done after next week. I hope to run it on next weeks meeting in Belgium. Just need a car to pull it. The honcho infront of the trailer supposed to be inside, but somehow it turned out to be an awesome combo in my opinion. Check the foto's and enjoy oh, and i checked the weight...... 21 Pounds, or 10,5 Kg |

The only thing that could be remotely better for that trailer is a set of running lights. Pure perfection, incredible!
