Default greggreg's 1.9 mutt build

so ive got a few items in the mail to figure out what else is needed to make what i want.

so far got a new wraith kit tranny, an axial skid, a set of highlift tundra axles

i had a set of the round through screw yokes to fit the tranny and some links for the rear 4-link but they may be to long

ive got tires n wheels on the way, proline titus and flatirons

i am making homemade chassis and steering servo will be chassis mounted

the idea is to 4-link the rear and have leafs up front but that may change

i really really really want to do the ford f-650 body but it depends how wide the tires are on the axles as i dont want them sticking out of the body an inch, if i have to i may pick up the 1/8 scale silverado body from parma

thats about where im at in my mind so far

any highlift axle tips 4-linking or anything please let me know or weak points, im pretty sure i have bearings for the axles already in a box of mine thats lost who knows where

and if anyone can tell me... i believe the mounting holes on the highlift axles do not line up with say the rc4wd soft leafs but not sure, anyone know?

once the tires/wheels arrive then i can be on the search for a body and after that can start a chassis

tires n wheels got here ahead of time. threw em on rite quick.

since this silverado body is just hangin out and has the same 13.5 wb as the bodies im lookin at usin i figured id get a look at how itll sit and i like it.

outside of tire to other is wider then i was hoping at almost 9 inches so i will proly be going for the 1/8 parma silverado.

the silverado i used in these pics is 13.5ish wb and 8 1/4ish wide witch would be perfect but i cannot find em anymore

if anyone knows where to find it thatd be awsome, it was for nitro as it had the cut out in the bed for motor. none of the current proline silverados are that wide

well scored a integy 35t and xl-5 off the classifieds. a bec off ebay. all that came this morning.

ive got 1 of thoes turnigy wp mg servos on the way 190oz @ 6v should be fine for this truck i think.

also ordered the body i think was monday nite, went for the 7.1 wide 13.8wb pro-line ford f-650, its wide enough to keep it a class 2 truck. scored it off Amazon.com: Online Shopping for Electronics, Apparel, Computers, Books, DVDs & more for 31 bucks shipped.

i did cut out the 2 chassis rails from 1/8thish in aluminum, just rectangle now and will cut shape when i have body here.

took apart the tires/wheels and added some 2 stage foams up front and just single plush foams in the rear.

with the internal weight system of the titus wheels its rite about 4oz per wheel not including tires n foams.

ive decided to 4-link front and rear and made a cardboard template for the link mounts on the axles just have to cut em out.

thats really bout it, once body is here i can mock most up then hit the lhs for paint and links and hardware. then buy some shocks.

Also good to see a home brew chassis under there. Ever since the scx10 came out, seems like every build has an axial chassis.

Looking like a rig mate. I would have stuck with the body you had in the first shots. The tires sticking out that small amount looks fine.
Now some ar60s...... now your TTC stylin'! lol

i couldnt for the life of me find that silverado body that size. that 1 is over 6 years old. trust me i wanted that body but had to be new painted my way. the pl f-650 body should look nice.

inside tire to tire is 6 inchish and body is 7.1 wide so not bad.

i was up late last nite measurin and got chassis rails ready to cut if my measurements are rite itll be how i want it when i add shock mounts to it so the chassis and trans WILL NOT be stickin out the bottom of the truck body.

i see all these cool trucks but the bottom of the chassis is hangin out like an inch and just looks not so hot to me.

ill still wait for the body to cut em though.

Yeah a tucked flat belly is always good - I like about 1/4in under the body to show off my frame. Looks more realistic to me.
Go check my whiskey express in 2.2 and you'll see what I mean.

body is finally here. quick trim just to look. body is wider then 7.1 so these tires will barely stick out.

body looks nice 4 door long wb tool box in back nice good size wheel wells
