I've had a couple of bigbirds 4runner bodys for awhile now, might as well hack one up and see what I end up with. This one is not based off a full size build, I might try to replicate mine later on with the other body. Starting off with a SCX10 with the hand bros front and rear 3 link kits. All tube/cage work will be bolted onto the chassis. Here is a shot of the cage I took last week. And a few pictures from tonight after getting the body mounts figured out, and some fender trimming. Stinger ended up being a little low after I finalized the body mounts. Going to finish building a front bumper based off this stinger and see how I like it. Roll cage is pretty tight to the body I need to have this rig running this sunday for our clubs annual howl crawl event. It will be far from finished, here is a list of what I hope to finish for the event. -More cage work, at least add a x brace to the rear roof of the cage. -Finish the front bumper -Build a rear bumper -Install electronics, and conceal them. -Start on the interior, floor pan/dash panel Might print a few stickers for it as well, since I will not be ready to start painting. |

I was wondering what you did with those bodies. Cage works looks legit, nice and tight to the body.

Added one more bar to the back of the cage, flipped the trans around, and finished the font bumper for now. Figured it would be easier to build the interior around the trans with the spur gear in the front. I am far to lazy/cheap to add a tcase just to get a lower floor pan. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics, I am to lazy to break out the real camera. And its a lot easier to just click upload from my phone, then transfer pics to the computer off my camera, then upload Here is where the front bumper sits. Its not perfect, so after I finish the rest of the truck I will probably cut the bumper off and redo it. Tomorrows plan is to start the interior, might not make much progress in that department. | |

Added some stickers and started on a dashboard. Going to work on installing the electronics next and make sure everything is dialed in before I do any more detail work. After that I might try to make a quick rear bumper. |
