Default Kraftwork Orange JK8 RENEG6DE

I've been poking along on this a while. Hoosierdaddy's JK8/Brute got me motivated to start cutting. Many of my builds have had more focus on their body than their overall beefy/blingy running gear...I will be stepping that end of the build up to match the body in this case.

As the name implies It's gotta be G6 savvy.

This is essentially where I started. It was brown and muddy when I got it. I primed it white because it was ridiculous and then I filled the bolt holes on the flares. And so it sat for Months.

Here I have zipped the upper portion of the rear doors off and begun to cut the roof back. I segmented the rear window on each side and worked it into a small extra-cab style window. It was important to me to leave the bevel around the indide. Next you can see the rearmost part of the Hardtop roughly trimmed and set in place.

Here you can see some reconstruction happening.

It's not pretty, but it's strong...

Starting to smooth out the gaps...

Some black primer to see what still needs work and the bed coming together.

Here is the beginning of the wheel wells for the bed.

Here you can see the 1:1 JK8 wells...mine will have a bit harder edge to them but I'll live.

Brutish

That is pretty much where I'm at today. The hard top will have the fiberglass 1/2 cab look of the venerable CJ8 Scramblers with a few other nods to the 8.

For the running gear I have a few choice parts being bolted onto a JK SCX10 chassis...anyone who watched the Kraftwork Orange FB page knows what is in store.

Nice work! makes me wish i hadn't hacked mine up to fit my wraith. Now I might have to find another body.

Well, the Iroks are on. Of course It required a complete reworking of the bed Had to ditch the setup with the more correct looking inner fenders and go with something longer.* Paint today.

Flares, Bed and roof are done. Color is next, then the stripes!

The body is about done. There are some flaws and imperfections, but considering the abuse that it is destined for, it may be too nice

No huge updates as of now. I tore a few core muscles and strained some ligaments a week ago and I'm just starting to get back on track with life ;)

I did get the front body mounts set. I need to slot the hole a bit more to move the body back a bit.

Began opening the headlight holes a bit to accommodate the Axial light buckets as well.

Of course now that I have the Vanquish axles, Chris at GCM decides to do another run of the A-13 Metalheads in the scx10 width
LOVED the set I had on the Ubercon and would love some for this as well!

GCM axles are in body is mounted. Next, clearance the interior and set the steering up.

Shakedown run! Success! Now time to get the bed covered up with goodies and detail the body (wipers black etc.)

Looking... amazing. Like the retro paint. Are you considering a spare tire on the back like the 1:1?

I may do the spare out back but this bumper had the carrier lopped off when I packed it up.

Radiator.
