| Bud Hauler F350 Dually Crewcab
Hey guys, I finally had some time to get started on this. I picked this up from Joe (SEMIJOE'S Truckstop) a while back. It's based off an extended trailfinder 2 chassis. I'm going to rework a lot of little things to help get it to where I want it. I'm changing the theme from rescue truck to a budweiser theme. I can't match the paint, and the hood doesn't really fit with a rescue truck. I like the look of the rescue theme, but if you look closely at the pictures, you'll see the red doesn't match the paint, and I don't want to spend time fixing all the stickers for someone to peal them off to match their hometown fire dept. I'm thinking that it will look perfect pulling a miss budweiser powerboat. More on that later. Here are some pics. Here It is when I first got it. I swapped out some 1.55 invaders instead of the trailbusters. The paint is automotive quality and smooth as glass. It has a couple nice details that Joe did-trailer hitch Dual shocks all the way around A little glue looks like it let go on the hood. Ouch! Some outside poser shots. I dropped the ride height a little. Thanks for looking. Any thoughts and suggestions are welcome. |

Looks good, bad luck on the hood! The rear tires look like they are sticking out tooo far to me. And loose the front bumper from the tf2.

I can't take credit for the work so far. I purchased it from Joe at Semi Joe's truckstop. I just liked it and I'm changing it around to my liking. I'll keep you posted though. Axle width in the rear is tops on my list. |

Thanks for posting up Bulldog... It is one sweet looking rig! Ditto on the duallies sticking out too far... it'll be interesting to see what your solution is. Cheers, T |

| Problem solved
Well, If only all problems were so easily solved. I completely forgot that on my showtruck, I had to use spacers to accommodate the 1.55 irok's width on the double trouble wheels. So I swapped the bud truck wheels over to the showtruck and Voila...perfect width. On the showtruck, I used a stock highlift axle cut down using Semi axle shafts. I don't have any pics of that mod, but maybe once I do it, I'll post up. It also helps that I have an extra highlift axle in my parts stash. On to the pics. Here is the width right now...way too wide. Here is the width of my showtruck with the 1.55 iroks and spacers. Spacers (home depot and new 2.5mm screws from mcmaster carr) Perfect width now...all tucked in. Tires actually look really nice on here, but I have to keep it super big for the fans! Of course I'll have to find a way to attach the axle to the tf2 chassis, which will probably be a headache. Such is custom building. Fix one thing and @#$% yourself in ten other ways. Thanks for looking! |

Thanks Forresto! It's Ok to love on an oval now and then! I'm following a killer Silverado build right now, and I'm so anti chevy, I can't stand it....but in the end, it's a big bad rig. If Newbright came out with a big Ram, I'd be all over it! Maybe next year! If you want to check out the build I'm talking about...see this link. He's doing a really nice job! According to their site, they do have a big dodge! A REALLLY big 1:6 dodge! Course it would need a stretch and rear fenders. Ram HEMI, Mud Slingers, 1:6 Scale, 27", 36678 |

"yours is a beast also. was that for sale on ebay?" I haven't ever listed the showtruck. It's a keeper. The bud hauler will eventually go up after some mods. Mak, as for the big Ram, it's on their site, but not available anywhere and it's huge! Almost too huge. The 1/6 scale builds can be really challenging. There's a killer build on here somewhere with one. Found it! http://www.scale4x4rc.org/forums/showthread.php?t=35879 , but if the bodies aren't available, we won't be building anything! Here's a sick build with the big ram body. Long read! http://www.scale4x4rc.org/forums/showthread.php?t=29825 Last edited by Bulldog; 11-08-2012 at 12:02 AM. |
