So...stuffed a .06 driver in the screw...got it to break loose.
I did just my rear wheels...had the same issue with 2 other screws. A bit peeved at this as I've never had an issue with VP hardware before and have a high quality driver.

Need to find some better stainless steel hardware

VP doesn't sell replacement hardware for these wheels

McMaster Carr $20 for 100- m2.5x6 316 stainless

Hey are you cutting your own foams ? if so use metal soup cans or coffee cans cut the top pinch bead off and use a file to sharpen then use a twisting motion to cut thru the foam , this is for the out side dia. inside maybe use a small paint can or similar size can . Just something I have done in the "DARK SIDE" world .

Maybe a fruit can or coffee if you can find a metal one , yeah you have to buy what ever is in it but cheaper then a hole saw . People are gonna wonder what the hell is that guy doing measuring cans ....lol

Pale, The "DARK SIDE" world has many cool ideas!!! If that works...meatwad might have chance to start his own foam company.

hey post im glad you got the screws out. Too bad they don't sell the replacement hardware...you would have thought since they make everything modular that they would have. What genius'.

Post i thought when you were talking about weights inside the wheels. That's why i asked, i remember you said you hated weighed wheels because of the stress it placed on the universals. i forgot about these weights. these don't rotate with the wheel, my bad.

I can't take credit...another crawler had found this to be a good idea...the best I've found is a 5/8" ID . Fits on the TF2 axels both front and rear...and the SCX10 axels rear...probably fits AR60 axels, rear. Haven't tried that yet

Actually found some different sleeves at the hardware store, and McMaster Carr.
I liked the ones from McM C better they seemed to lock better

Picture From the TF2...it had a sleeve that would synch down better...where the other style was just held down by the set screw you can see the split...i liked this style better and .02 oz heavier

Got to play today....nice weather and met another local crawler...well kinda local, we met halfway

A couple of pics

Crawled with the wraith and the truggy...haven't crawled with the wraith much here lately, it's my go-fast/basher...but kept up with the Phat2011's "crawler" wraith pretty good.

I had done some mods to the truggy....universals added, fixed my broken link, re-did my steering linkage so it doesn't hit the pumpkin any more. Didn't see much improvement in my steering though. The rig still amazes me, wish my driving ability matched the truck.

Practice grasshopper ...practice

Ya, our weather is like heaven compared to you guys...had enough snow yet ??
Will it be gone by June ? Meatwad and I search all the time for rock. First time we had visited this place...it had some nice lines.

I'm looking forward to our GTG...not to worry about the rock, trail running is cool too. I'll probably wait for a couple months before buying the ticket....but I already have the time off, a 4 day weekend ...

Nah I grew up in an area that gets more then we do here so its not that bad ,just getting older and not enjoying it like I used to .We only got about 6-8 inches Friday so it wasnt bad other areas go a hell of a lot more ,breaking the snow thrower and having to shovel sucks though.
Im always on the look out around here and I have a few ideas some trails some rock . Im hoping for good weather so we can hit the rocks at the lake .

Im with Pale...The snow just isn't fun anymore as you get older.

Hey Post...cool pic.

The Rum Runner goes anywhere to deliver the goods. In the Caribbean the mosquitoes wont bite him out of respect. In a museum, he is allowed to touch the art. In the woods, Bigfoot has taken a picture of him...he is the rum runner.

Been awhile...

I've been comping this rig, learning a lot. One thing that has plagued me from the beginning is if I rolled the rig it would crush the body down onto the tires and obviously affect the performance. It was only velcro'd on in the back. Well, the last comp the body posts gave up the ghost and broke...warped the body so badly into the tires that everyone watching thought I'd ripped a tire it was so warped. I was able to finish that run without a body...but I was done for the day.

I made a roll bar that will hold up the body and has some Velcro attached, fixed my body posts with some plastic posts that will give a little better. Also braised some repairs...three of them. Hadn't noticed it until I was cleaning up after the last comp...busted three joints. It was a busy day of repair. But I think I have a stronger rig now. Also have some CI "Little Nova" foams in the mail...never liked the stock foams for the Trepadors

So...still debating weather to post a pic of my ghetto fix/roll bar
I can't claim the idea, but it was genius
