WASSSSSUP GREG!!!! Hey im not getting it...if you roll over and then roll it back wouldnt the body get back into place? I had issue once with the JK jeep body, i tried velcro'ing to ax10 but articulation was so much that the tire would grip the body fro the inside wheel well and just rip it off the rig. it was like it gets stuck, you hear velcro rip and then the body gets flung off. not cool at all. |

Hey Alex...had issues with the mounting of this body. Had a pin set-up in the rear but the styrene got so weak it tore off at some point and I had to use some Velcro to attach the rear. If I rolled the rig, and it seams that's my M/O when comping, the body would come loose and jam down on the tires. Of course you have difficulty running like this and cannot touch the rig or get penalized. Last comp I broke the posts right off and the body was just swinging freely. I was done for the day....SO I made a roll bar out of flat stock and now attach the body via Velcro on the inside of the roof. Tested it out several times (rolling over) not an issue any more. Next to last comp tomorrow, should improve my performance Good to hear from you Alex.... |

So....the ghetto roll bar worked like a champ...but I might be a bit top heavy with it....time to drill some holes in it maybe. The rig as a whole crawled better....MIght change the foams in the front...a crawler buddy mentioned 2.2 foams in a 1.9 wheel might work pretty nice. Might be the right combo for me...just a bit inside enough. Just a little bit stiff in the front. Sorry, watching baseball Another mod I'm considering is the XR10 Chubs and Knucks for the front axels. A friend of mine (Meatwad) is running this set-up on his SCX ...and has insane steering... I'm feeling it now...this might carry over to next year.... .. I will be a contender. I have a certain measure of confidence now Last edited by Postclanker; 04-08-2013 at 10:19 PM. |

Gregg I really think the steering mod will help a lot. Rig seemed to be working really good yesterday. Your driving has improved along with the rig, sad thing is my driving skills seem to be deminishing |

I am encouraged by the latest mods... The courses yesterday were tough, I saw 5 crawlers fail at the same spot I did on my first course and the sixth only progress one more gate because he watched us all go first and winched it.... he's my friend so I'll cut him some slack... I promise, I will knock on that trophy door next year....tough class, but I'm up for it | |

Working well and a truggy built with the driver's hands. Can't get much better than that my friend I'm thinking with some steering mods things will just get better. Oh and winching ftw |

That was good Mr. Wad... Between that and "touching yourself" ..I can't stop laughing When you comp, you can't touch your rig. If you are turtled...on your back and can't recover...you get to roll it over...minus 10 points... you can't pick it up...just roll it over onto it's wheels... or reposition the rig at the last gate you cleared cleanly...minus 10 points...that way you can pick up the rig. I had two of those in the last comp. Stability is key...and steering...I'm a bit top heavy right now, and my foams could use some tuning...I think they are too stiff. We had some vertical climbs ....actually some nice challenges. I'm not real good at this yet....but I'm game...and come away from each comp learning something new. I will comp again next year for sure |

iirc A rollover is a +5, gate touch a +10 and reposition is a +10 with rear tires placed at the last gate progressed.

Minus, plus...either way not good to your point total... Roll overs only 5 points ??? I'm easily confused... I hit a couple gates too |

-10 points if i touch my nuts roll over and reposition? that dont sound good....no no no, not in my house I think you need to pour a little whiskey on the foams, give them tires some weight! I think its time for some nitro fellas....come on...nitro nitro nitro |

The roll over and reposition is worth it if you're in a spot where you can't get to the gate.

I have medium CI foams in my Treps, 9lb. rig and still took at least 6-8 lipo packs to break in. Maybe give it some time, make sure they vent freely since the closed cell foam chokes the holes in the wheels.

| Re: Clanker's SCX10 Truggy I 'm not touching anybody's lug nuts When you're out fooling around with friends you don't even consider how to get out of a jam...hit a reverse, roll the truck over by hand rather than trying to recover. Comping is a totally different mind set...I need to treat my crawling with friends like I'm comping. Still have fun, but in the back of my mind...try and save some points |
