well im building this for a 2013 scale build off on a differant forum but here is what i got (please dont make fun of my tube work it is my first time trying to do tube work and im only 16 with no experiance!!!) should i go with a dingo roll cage? or the one the body came with modifyed to fit the shortend body! my plans are to smooth out the body finish the rocksliders do a custom front and rear bumper interior and a few other things here and there what do you guys think? i was planning on doing fenderflairs in the back but i dont think ill do that just leave it the way it is... advice? The first cage pic is the Dingo cage right? Go with that one. Front tube fenders look like they could use a little tweaking, might be the photo angle but it looks like they go in at the front. I would put rear tube fenders on it to match the front. Keep at it, looks good so far! |

yea the fenders are a little off but when i bought the body it was shortend and the fenders were cut off (not the cleanest cuts) so i just did my best to make it look the same and yes the first cage was the dingo cage ill throw the tire carrier on do a custom interior to fit with the cage. and thanks ill see what i can do with the rear tube work it took me like 4 days just to bend the front ones to be as close to matching as possible

keep it up, plain practice is the best knowledge, IMO anyways. to keep from waistin/messing up alot of tubin, try using old wire coat hangers to make templates with before actually bending your tubin.

Any auto parts store should have a manual pair of 3/16 tube bending pliers.

being you are using solid rod, try using 2 boxed end wrenches, that's what i used before i built my own personal bender, you can make some pretty tight, and nice bends if you take you your time. i still use this method for tight, precise bends. |

well looks like im not going to finish this one before the comp (this Saturday) i got the komodo crawler and the axles look way sick they preform very well also. i should have waited to mount the cage to the body cause i would like to paint it im working on some body work right now cleaning up the cuts that shortened the body and fixing a few cracks and to make it more sturdy i haven't had the time to do sliders and rear fenders and i haven't Finished the front fenders either i need a new set of scx frame rails cause min are bent pretty bad so i hope i can go in after school and build my sliders and rear fenders in the shop but we will see i guess pics  so i got the komodo axles mounted up and the bumper (yes i know its not straight thats what i get for using the only frame rails i have witch are bent ) flex shot with the new axles |

so i kinda did a rough count of how many scale points and if i made the dash and put in a steering wheel it would be about a 41 point rig... but that does not include the extra axle that is sitting in the bed of the jeep and the tool box and axle parts in toolbox (home depot gift card case) in there i have an extra axle gear couple steering hubs 3 plastic 2 metal and 2 strait axle adapter things so what category would those fit in and how many scale points would it bring? |

so i had some spare time in metal shop today so i made a rear bumper with tire carrier some of the welds could be cleaned up a little and i will just dident have time but here are a few pics i could go with this its just mounted with the dingo cage.. or or maybe both? and im out of black paint so this one is going to be like a primer grey what do you guys think? should i still mount it to the cage? cause im thinking if i ever run this in a class 2 ill run the spare tire on the cage and if i were to run it in a class 1 run it on the bumper? i dont know im starting to have tunnel vision and i need other opinions |

Sorry for the crappy iPod pics my camera and laptop broke so I only have an iPod at the moment... Grounded welds New tube fender What do y'all think so far? |

Working steering wheel mod scx10 - YouTube also got a ccbec and got it all wired up cleaned up the wiring tested and everything works properly! i am waiting on a few parts like custom Stainless Steel front links with revo ends im extending the front about 1/4 of an inch. some stuff to rebuild my shocks losi mini springs to do a semi droop set up and some 3/16 round rod to finish up the cage. all coming from axial jeepster! thanks again! im deciding to mount the spare tire in the cargo area so i dont get hung up with it mounted to my bumper. i got the winch hooked up and ready to roll now i just got to figure out how to make it work properly might have to buy a heyok winch controller. any ways here are some pics |
