I spent some time tonight on the new chassis and quickly realized that I need to slide the transmission back nearly 1" to allow adequate clearance for the motor and steering servo, not to mention proper body placement. After installing a Goldwing High Clearance T-Case Mount things are even more snug.

Next step is to get that front shaft headed up the left side where it belongs by way of a flipped YOTA II, then see what I can do from there.

Did a little work on the YOTA II and got it installed.

Recessed the Diff Cover screw holes to allow the 3rd member to bolt up to the other side of the housing.

Flipped the ring gear around for correct rotation.

This is much better!

Spent some time early this morning. I built a plate to mount the steering and winch servos.

Welded in

Great fab work. I will be watching to see where the original chassis goes from here.
I totally dug the TJ (or was it stretched to LJ?) at SWSC last year. I gave it a nod at the concours.

Thanks BD! I have a plan for the original chassis, and thanks for the nod on The LJ it's one of my favorites.

I tried to make the R3 Trans work, but I just couldn't get it to fit the build. So I decided to fab up a SCX Trans mount, as well as slider mounts.

Installed

Thanks Tim!

I didn't get as much done as I would have liked today, busy with the kids most of the day.

I did manage to get the Sliders bent up, welded and shaped.

Cab mounted!

I also got it sitting on Jeep wheels with Growlers a couple days ago.

I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, hopefully no one turns it off!

Worked on finishing the Bed

The Bed and Cab are done, at least for now.

Paint next, this is what I'm shooting for!

Nice work AJ! Ultra clean build as usual, I like the metamorphosis of this project. Settling on an old chassis classic is still a great platform to build off of.
