| Re: Sam's Baja Bug Thank you, I find myself wanting to add all the tube work that would be needed in a 1:1 sometimes. With rc less is more sometimes I guess. The chassis is starting to look a bit "busy" and I still need a few tubes here and there, oh well. As long as it survives my poor driving choices and isnt too heavy then I have done something right | ||

Funny you should mention that Tim, when I started building stuff that was the plan. The front bumper had a slight revision along the way, its still a bit out of square but its a done deal now. So anyway, I must of shortened it up a teeny weeny bit because now my tires and bumper contact at the same time. I will just shorten the links an 1/8" to make it all legit, not a big deal. | |

Finally found time to work on this again. Chassis is done and painted. Started some assembly today too. May even get to drive it tomorrow, I'm excited! |

Many thanks for the compliments guys! So I actually got up early this morning to throw this thing together. I still need to figure out the motor but for the most part its done. I even threw on some shameless scale stuff. Gonna comp this thing so I need every point I can muster. Hope you guys like it. The next two shots are of my battery set up. Can only fit 800mah 3s lipos but should be good for 20 minute run times. The battery fits next to the T-case, nice and low. I will post up the body and finished rig after dinner... So here goes! The little guys have high vis shirts my wife made a while back for my class 3 truck, to look like TTC ya know. To match the color scheme I will ask her to sew me up some green ones. The beadlock rings and hubs will need some paint too, maybe even the dash now that I think about it. Nice weight bias Nice weight too, almost as light as my class 2 Oh yeah, I did drive it and it rocks! Super fun little rig and works great, mission complete |

Nice Sam, looks like it will be a battle of the bugs at the Wa vs Or comp this summer. I will have a full line a VWees for all classes (bug ,Bus, Thing) |

| Re: Sam's Baja Bug Coming from you that means a lot, thank you! I am looking forward to it, it will be nice to go somewhere new. So I think I just spied an "evil" bug in the group photo from yesterdays comp on WARCRC. Looks pretty bad ass, I can only assume it is yours?

| Re: Sam's Baja Bug Thanks Trenton, its been a lot more work than I thought it would be. I'm trying to get better at welding and finishing and it has been getting a bit easier the more I do it. I still have no idea how you do it on those rock bouncer chassis |

I just couldn't wait to take this thing out so I "bugged out" of work and headed to the rocks. The place is just up the river from my house, dougan falls. Lots of tiny "scale" waterfalls and streams of water to make it nice and slippery in some spots. The little car was a dream to drive, super stable and climbs like a goat despite way too soft foams in the tires and the shocks could used a little stiffer set of springs. Whats funny is I thought the foams were too stiff but the tires broke in fast, that and all the water had the foams feeling almost non existent. On steep climbs it really torques over so I think the next step up on mini t springs is in order. Here are some picks, hope you all like em. |

I have a thing for vw bugs and this one is one of the sharpest I have seen. Puts my two to shame. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk 2 |
