Finally it was my turn to try to build tubechassi. a quick trip to the hardware shop and I was in the process. I use 5mm rod and 45% silverrod with Harris flux..
Im using my old Ax-10 TTC drivetrain,a lexan front Bug hood and ofcourse 120mm cut Boggers.

After some more work i found out i had to some change in the front because there was not enough room for the chocks to be mounted inside the frame and move around.. This picture are taken before front frame was cut off..

I also wantet the steeringservo to be hidden so i had to make a Pitmanarm mount. Made also a Panhard mount since i was going for 3-link front and rear...

Are you only using the bug hood or other body panels too?
I really like your steering setup, looking forward to how this turns out.

Thanks guys. I have alot of hours at the hobby bench to build the chassis, so it's good someone out there like it.
Look at the picture so you can see how I would have the shocks and why the chassis had to be rebuilt. Chassi needed to be not so wide at the lower rail to clear the choks.
Steering is built with modifyed Egressor steeringarms and some Tamiyaparts, hope it works because I have not tried it yet. :)
I tried to get it to work with 3.5 "shocks but had to go up to 4.0". There was not enough clearance between the chassis and frontaxle with 3.5 ". And don't mind the Panhard, i'll make a straighter one now that a have clearance with the 4" shocks..
For body i'm going to use some Small lexan sidepanels and the Bug Hood. I don't wanna hide the chassi behind to much panels..

Before i redid font of the chassi i made some work with the rear. I had no plan in this building but just go with the flow. I also made some changes to bottom of chassi beacouse gearbox was change to a Axial Low Gravety thing i found on Ebay.

The bottom of chassi is almost complete with linkmounts and so. You can also see steeringservo and winchservo in the rear.. Winchservo will be covered under a fuelcell....

Good progress! I like the steering mount. I did that on the flatty i built for someone. worked really good.

Nice steering mount there Metal Masher, hope mine works as good as yours.

On second try the rearend stays like this. Radiator will be cut down a little. Hope i'm right about that a long Panhard must be better then a short one..

And here it is painted and waiting for me to come home so i can make the last parts and mounting her up.. Chassi is a little bit of here and there but i don't care much for that.
It's a little bit heavy with 870 Grams so next chassi will be with more tubing and less rod.

When I returned home and got some work done on Herbie. The radiator and fire extinguisher is in place. The axles are with 300 CVD's and aluminum housing. RPP wheels are purchased. Soon time for some work on electronics. Esc will be Tekin FXR and a Brood 35 Turn motor. Winch and brake light controller from Heyok ...

This is really turning out great. Not much room up front for stuff is there? I really like how you did the lower chassis tubes giving you lots of room for axle movement"thumbsup""thumbsup"

sweet looking rig , props on the tube work "thumbsup". Have you used that transmission before ? i bought one for a build and well it sounded like it had rocks in it with a 35t tekin on it lol i dont think the gear mesh is right mine has a spot in it when you hand spin it over where it hangs up just a little . it will be geared nice and low too mine was and i was using a 27t pinion . it was a little low for me . i definitely want to see some video of this rig in action

Thanks for the praise guys. This is the first tubes I build and I wanted to build this so good I could to see how good I was. I have a few hours reading buildingthreads in rccrawler and have seen what has been done. Amazingly many fine prosject here on the forum. I'm starting to be happy with it now and need to be finished so I can start something new. Head is full of plans .. hehe ...

I hope the transmission is okay for there is no room for any other case. I have not run it yet. If it does not work I will try one Berg V1 case. Its almost the same and should fit in the same mounts. I use 15T pinion but realize I should go up a bit. Will try to run it a the next few days ...
