I've never used emblem before, but if it has Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK) or Acetone in it, it will eat into the ABS plastic that the Nikko body is made of. My TJ Mutt uses the Nikko body, and I used ABS cement for all the body work (fenders, etc) and it's what I would highly recommend using. Don't toss the melted hood just yet... I might want it... maybe. The YJ has potential, although it definitely changes the look from the 1:1, it still conveys the same message. Hopefully a Nikko TJ will pop up soon though. |

I think it looks sweet! You don't see very many older looking jeeps done this way. I would leave it myself. Either way you go, it is pretty nice work, especially for bring done in one night.

Thanks guys. I like the TJ better so, I'll be getting that back together but at the same time, I'm really diggin' the idea of having both body options. The TJ is repairable.. I scraped all the gook off and cut out the soft spots.. I might try to fix it or I might get a new one. We'll see. |

Ok, I got all the body work done on the YJ. You would think 1/10 scale body work would suck 1/10 as much but, it still sucks the same as 1:1 I got it in primer.. The plan is to sand & paint tomorrow.. I'm going to use whatever color I already have in the cabinet. I ended up making fenders for it, extending the fenders down lower, making an entire new grill.. Man. I like how it turned out. I have another TJ on the way too. I really like the idea of being able to run a YJ or a TJ whenever I please. I'll have each body a different color.. I guess I'll have to make a roof & door panels for each color though. Meh. |

I am really excited about this build. Love all the cool detail. The overall build is truly fantabulous! |

Nice change with the Body... for a one night affair, it looks amazing! You're stepping out of class 2 boundaries with this now right? |

| Re: Die-Laughing's Class2 Ultra4 Jeep! Not that I am aware of. I don't want that to be the case anyways. Why do you say that? I looked over the rules and I didn't see anything in there in regards to what I'm doing. The closest thing I found was that the body width at the doors had to be wider than the width of the inside of the wheels. I didn't read anything specific about the front end or the fenders. |

I just saw this rule yesterday that makes Melons illegal. • A front bumper is required and must be mounted to the vehicle's rail chassis and must be wider than the outside of the chassis rails (chassis cross rails do not count as bumpers). I'm going to just rig up a ghetto fab bumper with tube and zip ties! |

Thanks Generis! I spent a lot of time making sure I was building this truck to spec.. It's borderline but, isn't that the point!? ""Class 2 "Trail" • Description - A stock vehicle that has been modified to become a capable trail rated rig and is not necessarily street legal ."" When I read the above, I always thought it said "remains street legal" but, it is "not necessarily street legal" that description makes me feel better. ""• You must run a full rail chassis, and the chassis (including bumpers) must be 3" longer than the wheelbase (this includes a chassis with a truggy rear frame)."" I'll have to do some measuring for the above spec to make sure but, I think I'm safe. If not, I'll have to fudge it. Other than that.. I can't find anything that I should be concerned about in the rule book. | |

My class 2 builds are definitely too conservative! This is the top shelf. I'm looking forward to laying eyes on it in a few weeks!

I picked up a sweet ass tow strap from LockedUp and I mounted it and then realized it doubles as a tow hook! Bonus! I have so much crap back there.. The weird part is.. It all fits. |

I also installed mirrors that I found on an axial parts tree.. The best part is.. I can literally bend them back 360 degrees and they spring back. I don't know how long they will last but, Meh. |
