Thank you!

I got my Vanquish light bar mounted.. I drilled & tapped right into the cage.. after paint, I'll loctite them in and it should be real sturdy.

I also have my test drive mocked up... I'm only going to have a drive and an empty passenger seat when I'm running it.

I also made some pretty cool Spool's that I'll be running in this truck.

Very nice tube work. When I look at this, and I'm a complete n00b with rules, but it looks Class 3 to me. How do you make the distinction?

Thanks guys, I appreciate the kind words.

Rules? I don't follow no stinkin' rules! No but, seriously.. My club is pretty open with the rules in C2.. We even allow cut & shuts in C2. If they give me shit, I'll hot glue some scx10 chassis rails to it or something.

Thanks! When it comes time to do the body work I think I'll be contacting you. I have some ideas but, I gotta get some more stuff done & figured out before I'm to that stage though.

I buttoned up the axles for this build this morning..

I'm using the Grip-Lok Locker up front and the Grip-Lok Spool out back. I love these Vanquish pieces.. Very nice.

Hopefully I can get some more work done on this thing today.

OK!! I got a lot done this weekend...

I found this aluminum case on ebay.. it's an electronics case. It has aluminum caps that screw onto the ends.. I plan on stuffing all of my electronics into this box and waterproofing it.

So, I bought a bunch of different types of styrene & supplies to experiment. I never worked with styrene before but, so far I'm liking it. I watched some "styrene basics" videos on youtube and picked up a few tips/tricks and basic techniques. Here's what I did so far..

This is a rear deck panel that will cover my electronics box.. I mounted the highlift jack to it.

This is the back of the rear deck panel.. I have some bracing in there for strengthening and the highlift bolts on.

here it is in position, over the electronics box.

Then I made a floor board that the seats will mount to and continue the interior towards the front..

You can see how the floor board is designed in this picture.. The transfer case is nicely tucked under the floor.

more to come...

I did some more detail work.. wired up my electric fans, formed radiator hoses, formed fuel filler tube and attached filler tube mount & gas cap, molded the upper part of the fuel cell to the lower & added straps, made +- battery cables..

I ran my radiator hoses & fan wiring into the rear deck panel for a clean look..

I'm trying to build this styrene stuff to go in/out in sections. The seats on the floor board will come out of the roof in one piece, then the rear deck will come out in one piece allowing access to the electronics box.

I think there will be one more piece to the interior floor that will go in front of the seats & under the dash to create the actual floor & firewall.

I'm excited to get this truck & scale bits painted up!!

Then I did some more work on the chassis.. mainly rear tire mount but, I'll post up the pictures of the chassis I took today...

chassis front:

chassis top:

chassis side:

chassis rear:

tire carrier:

It took quite a while for me to figure out where I wanted this tire to sit. I didn't want it hanging off the back too far and I didn't want it covering up my pretty scale pieces in the back of the rig.. This is what I decided on..

I like this rig. it's a keeper
