I love the thought of "if I put enough pressure on a piece of metal then I can get it to bend into any shape I want". Keep it up, I love this stuff!

Deans kinda like that spoon bender guy (forget his name...Geller maybe ) of RC crawlers...wouldn't think metal would form like that. Pretty amazing |

So I effed up my first cover but the second came out good enough to use. I cut it up and welded in some angle pieces and attached it to the flange. No in process pics but.... The flat recess areas look offset to the top because of the camera angle (couldn't get the light right straight on). Just need a fill plug and we are onto the chassis and all the other boring stuff. BTW, never again... PITA!

Speechless. The offset pumpkin dilemma has stalled my FJ build for some time now. Are you sure I can't send my axles to you for this awesome 'chino mod' ?!? Again, nice work sir. |

KSCrawler, if the diff cover wasn't such a PITA, I might make a few "extras" if I can find some front axles at a reasonable price. Not going to say I'd sell anything since I have not renewed my vendor star. I will however be looking into making some die for my buddy's punch press so diff covers may be floating around in the future. Doublej, Not sure if I want to add that to this truck or not, I like the look of it as it is but who knows, maybe later.

BTW KSCrawler, your Aoshima looks good. I have one of those bodies too but in the rare teal color. Willing to trade someone for a red one if you know someone who has an unmolested one. |
