yes I have, it works pretty good once you change wire and switch over to 100% argon The AP bed looks pretty good JIA, nice work as usual. Are you planning on doing the back bars the same also, or just using the basic shape of that bed? |

I haven't, and even if I did, there's no argon here. Tack and braze...works well for me. Yeah, I figure once I get the other cutout for the shock done I'll start the tube work...have to. The rest of the bed is based around tube. For those wondering what AP bed means, here's a shot of what I'm loosely basing this around. Pretty much what Badger's Mounty bed is based on. |

Made a boneheaded mistake. After I'd finished the first cutout in the bed for the shock and shock mount I made a template for the other side. Made a reference mark, put the template in place, marked the bed, and commenced cutting. The bad thing is I made the reference mark on the wrong side of the frame rail. Looks like I get to patch the hole now. Last edited by JasonInAugusta; 09-26-2006 at 12:02 AM. |

Patched the hole. Debating firing my machinist. So now the main box is in place, time for all the extra crap. |

Thanks guys. The added weight of the 16ga steel has created a need for a stiffer spring pack on the rear. I figure once I'm completely done with the bed I'll retune the suspension. Until then it'll probably keep the soft pack. |

looks great! This is exactly what I was going to do to my High Lift....if I bought it. Only thing I'd change is the plastic shock towers in favor of some custom 3/16" tube hoops. nice |
