Been awhile since I updated. Been playing more than building. Couple from a small GTG: Endo! Me winching my buddy's 6x6: Couple poser pics: I have added a couple of items in the last few days. I got some of The Crawl Space's V2 Terra Bridges and mounted them to the roof: Got some of Bowtie's Warn winch decals to dress up the 3Racing winch. It also has a sticker for the hook: That's it for now. I should have my CI Lil' Nova foams for my tires in next week. The stock Proline TSL memory foams suck. Way too soft for an ~8lb rig. Oh, and the HeyOK light controller works great for the lightbar. |

Awesome truck I love it! The only thing I would have done differently is keep the front fenders.

Thanks. I was originally going to go with a pinched look and had them cut at an angle from the edge of the headlight out to full width. It was limiting articulation though, as this body is quite wide. I wanted a more capable rig this time around and found a happy medium.

Got my CI foams and finally got them installed. They weren't kidding about the outers being oversized... Then again, they are being compared to TSL foams. They're kind of a short 1.9. How it sat with the stock foams. Severe underinflated look and they would fold up pretty good in tight spots. After getting the CI foams in. Definitely a stiffer foam. I didn't get to take it out and see how well they do but just tooling around in the yard they still have flex to grab edges and stuff. I have Firm outers in the front and Medium outers in the rear. Some notes on putting these in TSL's: They definitely have to be stuffed in and it makes mounting them significantly more difficult. At least for my style wheel (similar 3 piece setup as the RC4WD steelies). I had to remove my stick on weights(didn't want to cut up the inner foams just yet) and then tack the bead to the inner ring with super glue in order to get them to stay seated. I also used a screw, nut, and a few washers through the center hole to pull the two halves together evenly before bolting them together. It was a major PITA but it worked well. |

So Pioneer Valley Hobbies in West Springfield, MA had their build contest today and since I have family in the area, I went and entered my truck. There were a lot of nice trucks and guess what? I won my class (which ended up being the 2.2 class due to the way my truck is set up being fenderless and such). Got some cool swag and a gift certificate to store. Thanks RC4WD, Axial, ProLine, Great Planes, and Pioneer Valley Hobbies!! -Jon |

I love, and am stealing your idea for the hi-lift mounts. That is awesome! I also like the whole truck, but am confused by the extended cab door windows....what is that triangle there for? Looks like an Acog reticle. |

The hi-lift mount idea came from here on RCC so feel free to steal. The triangle, or chevron as it is called, is taken from actual military vehicles serving in the middle east. It helps identify friendly vehicle so they don't get shot at by their own people. I needed something to break the paint scheme up a little so it seemed fitting. -Jon

The more I look at this the more I want to do something similar but I can't do tube work and I imagine it wouldn't be cheap to pay someone to do it. lol

The tube work isn't too hard. I used solid rod since its easier to get the bends right. You just have to heat it some. Its a little bit of an investment for the torch and brazing rod, etc. but its worth it. Something unique and your own. -Jon |
