Interior won't fit unless I cut out the right half.:-( Not sure if I want to do this just yet. I'm working on something though.

Alright, I had to see if I could get the interior to fit so I did some measuring, a tad of guestimation, combined with a bit of eyeballing and started to cut. Of course, I hacked a crappy interior but it was stll pretty clean. Good thing I didn't mess it up. The only other issue I had was the placement of the ESC due to the shorter than I needed sensor wires for the motor. No problem, I just lengthened them by three inches and the ESC and receiver now reside safely in the waterproof box.

Here's a couple of the under side, not as bad as I thought.

And the final fitment through the slightly scratched window.

Unfortunately there were no pics taken of the first outing since the 3 speed was installed but aside from a faulty driveshaft and a torn up ring & pinion, it was a complete blast to drive. Wheelies on carpet in 3rd gear, great crawlability on the rocks and a decent 2nd gear as well. The Goat Crawler and a 3 speed will be the combo in most of my future builds!

Fantastic rig!! I have to say that you're nearly single-handedly responsible for me building a 1.9 scaler. I've wanted one for years, but watching your video and reading through this thread pushed me over the edge. So thanks! I guess.... ;)

Thanks! Yeah, I'm really happy that it didn't require more cutting. Just need to repaint the interior now.... and add some shifters.

Default water proofing

There are awsome tips on water proofing electronics on a rc boat site for electric boats called OSE offshoreelectrics and if you look in the tip section at the top of the forum page you will see how tos on it. For both splash resistant and submergable. (sorry I need to figure out how to do links instead of directions to sites) I'm also a boat guy and water proofing becomes manditory.

Thanks, it's way more fun having the option to crawl or roost at will.

It's pleanty waterproof. The ESC and receiver are in the box and the Goat motor has been "very wet" several times in another vehicle.
