Only two ounces heavier than a naked bruiser bed. However, I'll still need to add a roll bar, spare and some scale junk. It's going to get heavier.
Nice work does the tail open?

As for color Yellow, Red, or Blue. With stock stickers.

Haha! I like how you think. It might happen.

Hmm, Mr. Stewart might appreciate that.

Tail gate does not open, it's way stronger that way. I wanted to make sure the bed stayed together, I'm a little rough on things for some reason.

Here are some updated pics of the new setup.

Been hammering on it quite a bit. Finally had a problem with the setup, the R3's output shaft broke (where it's through holed), time to order some parts... Grrr....

And a couple at the coast.

All they need to do is NOT drill the output, too little material left. Two small flats and set screws with a little Loctite is plenty fine for me.

That reminds me, I have some chromo 5mm rod I make custom axle shafts out of, maybe I'll cobble something together...

Danm Mike! How many Hiluxes you got?

Red's looking good.

I hear you on the beds, still have one left in mint condition with a nice coat of dark titanium on it.

Just a few this was one that Matt/obijuan had built, It's rummified bruiser with an r2 in it. I picked the bed up from a member here a few years back for a steal of 50$ but it was missing bed rails. I finally got the urge to do something with it so I added the reign cab back, chopped the bed up, made my own rails and slapped it all back together. I just recently put some gear head 1.55 ENKs on this, it really looks the part now. The bed was red and was a close enough match to the cab so I left it. Kinda reminds of the downey off road red step side lux they had in their parts catalog

Mmm hmmm...
I remember that truck, Cal mini fiberglass bed. There's a super clean lifted white '80 running around here with one of those beds on it.

Had an issue with the R3 a few weeks ago. The output (this is after I cut it from the center hex portion) is drilled for a 3mm pin... Broken.

I have one on order but need the truck to be running on Sunday so I decided to see if I can make a new output.

I cut off the end and drilled the hex portion, brazed in a new shaft and cut some flats with my dremel. We'll see how well it works on Sunday. The new shaft is chromoly so it should be much stronger. When I get the new one I ordered, I'm going to drill it all the way through and make the whole shaft out of the chromoly

It was me, gave the design to RCP back in the day when I got tired of making them. I think they discontinued them many moons ago.

Thank you for the help. I'll keep my eye out for one, in the for sale section. I should have picked one up, when RCP was making them.
