haha i got that under control but i want one of your rear racks and stinger bar winch mount so i can run a winch

Dean How'd you weld the rock sliders to the chassis? I would think MIG'n it would burn the thru the chassis right quick.

i have an astro 130 mig. i am using .025 wire. no issues yet. it actually burns through the brake line alot easier than the chassis, gotta be careful either way.

today, it rained a fair amount and got me thinking, i had better prepare this thing for the upcoming rainy season. i grabbed an old hitec servo box and found that the rebel 2 fits in there without hitting the lid. the rest is history. 20 minutes later, walla!

How I missed this thread I will never know... Awesome rig man... Where exactly is "the Bean"? Looks like an awesome crawling spot. Are there any nice beaches nearby so my wife and girls can come too?

trikster, thanks. "the bean" is bean hollow state beach about 30 miles north of santa cruz and 15 miles south of half moon bay. beaches at both the north and south end. about a mile of rock, coral and sand stone in between. worth the trip from anywhere!

Thought it looked familliar... We camped on Half Moon Bay over the summer. Only one hill on the beach my crawler wouldn't make, most likely because of my Moabs and it being total sand.

Just watching your video... It looks fantastic on film. Perhaps you can enlighten a relative n00b to crawlers... Why leafs up front and 4-links in back? Why not links all around or leafs all around? Is it a scale deal or is there a crawling reason around it? Awesome rig!!

i was going to put leafs in the back but i couldn't find the other two. it was 3:00 a.m. and it was easier to link it than find the leafs. now i'm just too lazy to leaf the back. besides, it works really good so i'm going to keep it this way for a while. i have seen alot of 1:1's like this as well.

Looking good Dean, I like the mini tow strap, and the painted letters came out good. Have you scene the letter decals Bruiser Builder offers? They are a sticker that goes right over the letters and they look real good. I used them on my Trekker.

i think i got two including shipping for $28.00 from kamtec off e-bay. they were cheaper than the one i got for the hilux. great for bashing around!
i got one for myself and one for halfcab. as far as the look of the body appearance, that took alot of play.... i mean work. i had to get several kinds of rocks to rash it up which meant i had to do alot of research and testing. what a pain!
