Thanks , go some work done on it . Put my hinges on it and a bit of body work. Here is a pic of a bed I'm modeling from.

Looking really good. On the toolside trucks I always drove the center small compartment folded down like a table instead of like a canopy. With the swing up you would bash your head frequently geeting intothe compartment.

Very true , but I want to make sure they are more likely to stay closed when I trail. Though the hinges are stiff and hold position well I just want to be sure. I was also planning to use magnets too but with the stiff hinges it may be over kill.

That bed looks outstanding! In dealing with my current build I can really appreciate the patience and time it takes for that amount of detail and fitting of parts. Keep up the great work, I'm sub'd. Quick question, I take it that's the "green putty" I've heard about, that your using as a filler? Is it better than Bondo body filler?

Thanks for the compliment. The stuff I used is called Green Putty made by Squadron Products. It's fast drying which helps with not having to wait before sanding , it also is easier to apply then bondo with less air pockets and there's no two part mixing required. Another product that is similar that should work great and be easy to find at auto part stores is called Dolphin Glaze , it's for finish work after bondo or duraglass on cars and should work well on models.

Nick and anyone else. I'd caution against using squadron putty for anything less than the smallest of cracks. The putty can shrink over months and totally screw your build. Most of my body work pros swear by bondo or USC icing. The Squadron works well for little hairline imperfections. I'm not saying your build is going to blow up, but it's something to keep in mind.

Looking Great!

I have heard and SEEN the same thing. works good on inner corners and small stuff as said, just not as a big filler. its also all about how you cure it. too fast and it could be worse.

this looks fine tho. amazing work on that.

LOVE the FORD body too

Turn out ok? Are you nuts? That bed is fantastic !!!

I should just send you my torch/tanks, they belong in a proper utility bed.

Thanks for the praise , I didn't get a whole lot done but put light bucket on back of the bed , cut out the doors and hood, make up some door panels.

Thanks bud ! Well I hung the doors , hood and put a floor in and started on a dash .

Put some filler primer on to do some finish work. It will probably be a while till I get much more progress . Still got to finish the chassis I'm working on and get the RC4WD Fracture V8 engine , void rims and Mickey Thompson MTZ's to put on it.
