Default Project "Rain Maker" a ucfab u4 build.

Well since I live in Seattle and the colors planned for this rig are the same as the sounders and seahawks rain maker seemed like an appropriate name. Recently here in the Northwest the warcrc and nwsrc have come together to put on monthly u4 races. It looked like loads of fun so I bought a yeti to run I'm the 2.2 class. Well I got tired of watching during the 1.9 heats I decided it was time to put something together. I thought about a twin hammers and doing a 1.9 wraith to keep things cheap. Problem was everyone had one. I thought about the wraith it just didn't appeal to me. I saw a few of the ucfab rigs and thought that is just what I want. So I got a chassis ordered up. Here are the pics to start with.

Now for the parts and pieces.

- Ucfab 1.9 chassis, kyosho blacked out velvets, vp wraith ti links, blue monkey trailing arms.

- Axles are custom vp ar60s xr width, with steel axle tubes done by carter fab. Rear shafts are cbrb ti shafts that I cut down to fit. Front axle shafts are vp wraith cvd's that I also cut down.
Lockers are from supershafty. Bearings from fast eddy. C's and knuckles are green vp scale parts. Front servo mount and upper link mounts are from d-lux.

- Transmission has axial hardened gears. Vp case. supershafty 6mm outputs, beefy top shaft, and motor mount. Robinson racing spur and pinion.

- Wheels are vp methods with blue omf rings. C.i. deuces wild foams, and pit bull growlers.

- Electronics planned for this thing. Roc 412 3100kv motor, mmp, castle 10a bec, vp 3" light bar, savox 2270hv servo.

I must have missed the opportunity, but where did you find green vp knocks and chubs. I must have looked straight over them

It's getting there I gotta machine some bushings for the anti roll bar mount in the rear. Also need to pick up some more lexan.

So I'm bringing this thread back from the dead. I placed a couple adds in the forsale section and the wanted section with not much luck. I'm happy it didn't sell as I'd be kicking myself. So now it's getting finished this week to run it at the Washington vs. Oregon scale comp. Gonna run it in the Sunday g6. Got the chassis painted in a base clear Mercedes Benz silver. It's also the first time getting to play with my new airbrush which I've never used one before. It made it super easy to spray the color and clear into the nooks and crannys. Also I didn't care for the flat hood so I built a bolt on cowl panel and will bolt it on to make it look like it is riveted. Here are some more pics for your viewing pleasure.

Ps I'd like to give Kyle a huge shout out for allowing me to become a ucfab team driver. Very honored.

So I have a little bit of an update. Ran it in a short 150 gate g6 and did everything I needed and could've ever wanted. More than happy with it. Since then I became part of the ucfab family as a team driver, I thought that was pretty cool. Since the last update I pulled the mayhem wheels and pitbulls growlers in favor of a set of vp omf's and a set of silver compound "all caps" voodoo klr's. I took a few poser photos of it. Will start testing tomorrow.
