Thanks for looking
Do you mean this Splinter Cell guy?

NECA Splinter Cell 7 Inch Action Figure Sam Fisher

or

NECA Splinter Cell 7 Inch Action Figure Sam Fisher [No Body Armor]

I have bought from them and didn't have any problem with my order, though you might be able to find him cheaper on amazon or ebay.[/QUOTE]

Hey Wolf....that was a site I've never seen before, thanks for that....ordered the "non armor" version...hope I can get this to fit....

Thanks again...

If I could make you suggestion though. if you run your rear shocks out board it will give them a few degrees of inward lean, which I have found helps them preform a little bit better.

here's a pic of what I mean. in this pic though I would switch the spacer piece(red arrows) to the outside and the link to the inside of the mount. but you see the shocks to the outside (we call that outboard around here).

Hmm, suggestions are always welcome, that's why we do these builds Warren. I noticed I needed to space out the top mount when I put it together...I will look at that when I get out there today....seems like a good idea.

Didn't get much done today. Ran into a bit of a snag with the XR mod I wanted to do. I had someone else pickup the splined beef tubes for me as they are very difficult to get your hands on. They come in a short and an extended version. Even the short version adds about a half inch to your trac width...the extended version adds another inch to that. I am sure that the hobby store only had the one version...the extended one...that's what I got. Not my friends fault...I'm glad he returned his actually. After seeing these, not sure why you would make them like this, you'd have to add wheel wideners to the rear to make it even.
Or....modify it heavily as you will see

Maybe someone can educate me...

I used these splines, simply because I had too much into this not to. The splines had a sleeve right behind the splined part. I'm sure the ends of the axle cases were meant to slide into this sleeve. I had already cut mine off...so I cut the sleeve off. Also shortened the tube by about a half inch

I did get to strip the Cs and Knucks ....they came out good

I'll get to finish it soon

Sorry they weren't exactly what you wanted Greg. He didn't mention having a short or long version while I was there so I will assume that he only had the long. I'm glad you were able to make them work. What did you use to strip the hubs and knuckles?

Rigs look really good.
Some thing I do when using threaded rod as links,
Cover the threaded rod with 1/4" Poly tubing,
It acts like delrin when slid over the rocks!

Great SS bends in the tubing from page 1!!

Hey good sir...totally not your fault. I think the short version is a has been item anyway. When I talked to him and asked hime to make me some back in June he said that he would make them for me since I asked. I am not surprised that RC country didn't have both styles. I got got these to work with some fanagalin...that's all it takes...almost glad you didn't buy them as it would have been way to wide for you I think.

I used a degreaser i found at an industrial cleaning supply...I will take a picture of the bottle when I get home....it's yellow with a blue label. I think it's not as effective as easy off....but then I get carried away and forget I'm doing that...and you can't do that with easy off...you'll end up with pitted metal. This stuff works pretty good....

I use an aluminum or stainless sleeve to cover the links...those pics are strictly mock-ups to get the positioning right....

and Warren does some amazing bends and welds. He sent me a sample of the material he uses, this stuff is stout, maybe he'll chime in here and tell us all what it is...

thanks for looking Joe

I was able to order some of the standard width splined tubes from the creationfab site, however my order was placed at the beginning of this month and haven't gotten any notification of shipping. And even after pm's (his box is full) as well as email, I've gotten no replies.

the material is 3/16 .035 wall stainless steel tubing. I use a hand bender to make all the bends.

still looking good Greg. keep up the good work.

This is such an awesome build.

The previous truck was really cool too. Was that a hacked Midnight Pumpkin body?

When you run your batt wires out of the tool box I'd like to see it. Thinking of drilling a hole, cutting off my connecter, using a rubber grommet, re-soldering my connecter.
