Default Harley's Scout 800 Woods Runner

As if I needed another project However I was in the mood to do some fabrication this week and none of my current projects were in need (or ready) at the time.

Someone bumped this build Scout 800 "Woods Runner" build - Pirate4x4.Com : 4x4 and Off-Road Forum this week and it just hit me at the right time.

I started by scaling the chassis and replicating it as close as possible in CAD. Chassis is designed around the Axial SCX10 Chassis

I then used the model to create 1:1 scale templates for each individual tube.

Picked back up on it this morning before having to do some stuff around the house.

Bolted up my drivetrain back into it this evening to test fitment before working on the body panels.

I'm kinda surprised you went with the SCX10 instead of starting from a Wraith platform. Look sweet tho.

Ease of use mostly. The SCX is easy to weld directly to in this case. Plus I had my Jeep Wrangler laying around that I hadn't driven in several months, so I decided to use it as my donor car.

The plotter can be very handy at times! I could almost fit it all on an 11x17 sheet but it just didn't quite make it.

Snuck back downstairs for a few minutes last night.

Tried my hand at some steel fenders.

I'll also be doing the front fenders and hood. I'll narrow up the Proline grill to be used up front.

Started today by adding a cowl bar to the windshield area to reduce the look of how tall the cab is.

Before:

After:

Cut down a Wraith interior but the center tunnel is so wide that I may build one from scratch.

I cut the very front of the hood hoop off and redid it to make mounting the grill easier. I narrowed the Proline Ambush grill 1.5" to fit the width of this truck.

Mounted the rear panels.

I also added in the rear filler panels where the tail lights will be.
