| FJ trail style chassis via Mattzilla
I FINALLY got my FJ from my ole beer drinking, wire bending bud in Calie. I'm hoping to get this one done before Thanksgiving. It is suppose to be a 4 seater when completed. Parts list: Axial aluminum tranny case with all steel gears GCM transfer case MIP shafts 2200 RC4WD brushless motor (right now) Mamba SW3 esc Savox servo Axial axles with aluminum on the ends, MIP front axles and HD axial 36 gears Steel wheels from Hong Kong that look similar to the stock FJ wheels Axial Trepador tires Proline shocks Suppose to have a hidden winch (we'll find away through the servo Lue) And a bunch of lexan to finish the body and interior LED lights here and there too |

Got started on my interior. I used some lexan .030 this time. I snipped a little here and there to get some floor boards and partial wheelwells. Center cover to come. I then threw in a saddle pack battery (7.2V), Wraith seats on top of that, and also change the esc and motor to a Novak Timbuk2 with a 13.5t crawler motor. It does the job nicely. I also found some time in the past week to get the grill mounted. Now I'm about to finish the dash and lightbar. The lightbar is a piece of Delrin that will have 8 LED lights angled down in the middle. Some more cutting and sanding in my days ahead. |

Here is the interior in place, but not completely finished. I plan on getting the lights working next.

I'm actually going to try and finish this ole FJ. It hasn't been driven much until lately. I stretched it out an inch and widened it within the specs of C2. I now have some Yota axles on it to throw it back to the scale roots of Toyota too. So here is a list of things changed as of now: 1. TSS 1.9 Monster wheels with 1.9 Growlers and 4.75" CI foams 2. HH 30T Puller 500 Crawl (I inherited it with a shelf queen purchase) 3. 90mm RC4WD scale shocks in front and 80mm in the rear 4. Now running 3s 5. Winch anchor 6. 5" VP light bar Things for come: 1. Rear seats 2. Fender wells in the front and rear 3. Jerry cans and utility box cover over the servo winch 4. Other scale items 5. Hook up front lights and make some rear tail lights I cut some JK seats in half, removing the middle seat portion and then glued it back together to get my FJ rear seat. As of now, I have to finish fitting the seat in place. I might use some scale junk to hide my wires in the rear floor board area. Or maybe make a floor mat. |

| Re: FJ trail style chassis via Mattzilla I saw the pics on the TSS facebook, then stumbled across the build. Been thinking about a FJ lately and it caught my eye. I'll keep an eye on it, cool rig for sure.

Looks awesome! That's the tamiya front clip right? If you don't mind could you measure the width at the windshield and front of the hood for me? (without flares)

Thanks guys for all of the compliments. I really appreciate it. I had a little time today to do a few things. 1. Added a tow shackle on the rear end. 2. Rerouted the wires with a lexan bracket attached to the t-case. This should keep the wires out of my shafts. 3. Hooked up my headlights. 4. Mounted all of the seats. I hate photobucket and all of their stupid ads that pop up. Back to the Razorback game. Woo pig spoke! ! [/URL] |
