Got it all brazed up including the fwd center bar and hoop thingy..

Gonna go have it blasted b4 i braze anymore to it. Still have a few more poeces to throw in there. Once the cage is done and the axles get back from clay carter @CFM ill be able to move on the the chassis. Chugging along...

Happy thanksgiving everyone!!!

Is this cage section attached to the frame at all? Or just bolts to the body?

Itll attatch to the body via bolts from theunderneath side. Its a tried an trued method ive used on my past builds. Theres no real "need" for it to attatch to the frame. Its alot of uneccassarry work and weight.

Cage is pretty much wrapped up. Just some small detail pieces left.

A full size spare fits perfect. Need a light weight wheel for the spare now.

Little preview of what is coming. Im getting excited!!

Great eye josh!! Yahh frame doesnt fit or sit right due to the interior when its installed " correctly" reversed will work out better anyway.

Been vacant on this build as im still waiting for my axles.... but i did wanna tackle one thing that has been bothering me with this body... battery location... and heres why...

Usually i just put em between the sliders and interior floor.. but this bodies interior goes way way down.. as seen below... no room..

Then i thought... maybe in the back? Nahh dont like rear mount battery...

Then i went to a previously used method.. behind the front shocks on chassis.. nope.. cant.. dinky divorce kit.. no wayz... and then it hit me... the dash piece is hollow.... so out came the dremel.. i cut a hole in the firewall the exact size of the battery and recessed it in there. Its my only option and i kinda like it. Plenty of room for all my stuff up front..

This is a 3s battery so it pretty thick. But it tucks in there out of the way very nicely. Glad thats out of the way.

My bomb proof ddk from supershafty will be here wednesday so i can get that fitted up. As soon as the axles show up ill really start making progress.

Thx for looking comments or questions are always welcome.

Quick tech note..
Got my velvet shocks built up using jeepinDoug spring cups and associated rc18mt spring tuning kit. Using the front springs. They are the perfect for my shocks. And I also have 3 diff spring rates to choose from. Coupled with 40wt shock oil these shocks move buttery smooth. And actually have dampening characteristics. Boom! Thx again super shafty!

I prefer the standard line.

In any case very promising build and the only one I found using this body.

I love your solution for the battery and the perfect cage.

Thank you for sharing.

Thank you very much for honest input. The main reason wanted to do this was so i could make my sliders longer to achieve a lesser gap between them and the tire.

Theres several build on here using this body so keep an eye out. Most are going more for a stock look. Im going as extreme as possible. And atill keep C2 legal.

Thx man its words like this that make a builder want to make progress. Im loosing motivation tho as the thread isnt showing to much intrest. And waiting on these axles is really hindering any real fwd momentum as far as build progression goes. Oh well ill keep truckin on.

I see your point, what about keeping the standard line simply shifting it backwards?

I almost always prefer the stock look, but your cuts have something that I really like.

Yes, please keep going!

What about the axles, you say they are "custom", what do you mean? Did you design them? Do you have any picture or blueprints?

Again, thanks for sharing.

Shifting it back is always an option. Ill prolly make a new template n see how it looks.

The axle housings are being custom taylored by clay carter at cfm. Custom width. Wraith components.. pure beef. Panhards front and rear just because i havent done it b4 and i want to. He has a vendor thread on the subject at hand.

This is a sweet build, I think if the panel followed a similar line to that of the one cut on the body you'd be onto a winner, either way it's going to a bada$$ truck man

.
