Default Yotapane's c2 k5 hardbody.....

Always wanted to build a clod based k5 blazer , finally found a very nice platform to build on when Duxx decided to part with his custom caged scx based k5. Unfortunately the cage work was built with the use of the proline k5 body shell. Not one to cut up a work of art that's been meticulously crafted and powder coated gloss black, I decided a major re-scale on a clod body was in order, the body will be lengthened at the center of the doors 1/2", and sectioned above and below the main body line 1/8" respectively(eyeball engineering is key)..... Wish me luck(or maybe donate a few clod body's if I screw this one up)now on to the pics.....

In progress: pass side almost back in one piece, pics of drivers side to show how tiny the original clod cab looks , it will take a lot of bodywork but should be sweet when finnished....

Nice the clod body is just too small . I never thought about doing that to increase the size of it . Great work . Is there a build thread on that jeep ??

Glad this rig (chassis) might actually be driven for once. I gave Duxx plenty of hell for making this a shelf queen.

Beauty chassis for sure. Really like the direction you're going with it. Excited to see where you end up and, hopefully, seeing a few action shots of this thing.. for once.

Thanks for the kind words and I'll have many updates on this one in a few days, waiting on a case of q-bond to get the body patched back together, I am looking forward to hittin the trails with this rig, the chassis work is second to none, I hope the bodywork will be up to par, looking at the pics I'm thinking front fenders and hood need extended another 1/8" or I'll make the wheel arches bigger..

The old jimmy has more than enough wax on the hood, surprised the crawlers don't slide right off...

So between the wife and kids and work, the holidays and 1:1 projects I've let the k5 slip between the cracks but, hoosierdaddys k5 build got me motivated, first prime and block mock up pics, next up full phantom grille with square headlights tucked behind, might even do the square turn signals back there too... Let me know what you guys think..

And yes I'm a fan of the 73 full convertible k5s with the later square front clips. They look sik with the full phantom grilles and 3" cowl hoods, looks like America

Figured I'd try to get the body work under control tonight, drivers side is almost ready for final prime, cowl hood is built and attached, needs minor tlc on pass side(filler is laser thin and I can see thru it) should be in last coat of primer before too long, let me know what you guys think....
