| Re: The Chop Shop- 1990 Class 1 Topless K5 Blazer Thanks So I messed around a little with the K5 this weekend. I drilled out my holes for the Big Boss flares and also installed my new emblems fresh from MTHead. Then I used some new scale hardware from LockedUPRC to wrap up the look. I drilled out some holes, cut some chrome decals to fit and installed some rubber mirrors using ShooGoo. I also assembled the grill while I was at it. Then after sending a pic to my good friend Don he talked me into tinting the headlights. I think it brought out the attitude I was looking for . |

I got the K5 wired up except for the rest of the LEDs and the winch. I had alot of stuff to hide. So I started cutting a bunch of stuff in pieces and came up with this. Here's the outcome. Can't drive without keys.

Any plans to build a removable rear top? Love the tinted headlight too.

Here's a little update on the K5. I've got the windows almost done and the trim painted satin black. I'm debating on some satin black poison Spyder decals, but I'm leaning towards leaving them off. I ahve some Bigfoot brake/gas pedals coming from MTHead as well as some detail emblems for the tailgate. If you haven't ordered a set of emblems from this guy you definately need to. He makes custom emblems as well. Check him out here Emblems and Badges

I've been plugging away at this thing. THe taillights are done, just have to wire up the LEDs. The headlights are done. I made some buckets and lined them with chrome vinyl. I also started on the front bumper. I hate metal work I got this far with it all last night. I'll do a couple of up rights, a center cross bar and a loop for the winch hook. Maybe some shackle mounts. |

| Re: The Chop Shop- 1990 Class 1 Topless K5 Blazer Thanks. I've got something else in mind for this one. It'll get a simple tube style rear bumper to match the front with a spot for my license plate and a shackle mount, both of which that rear bumper was supposed to have had. I got a Bigfoot style MoonEyes gas pedal from MTHead, the brake pedal is enroute. I absolutely love that guys work. I've said it a few times here on this thread and others, if you want to step up your scale game you have to pay him a visit and get some emblems as well as other accessories. He makes these pedals, fuel cell tops, etc. |

Back to the bumper at hand. I gave up on my front bumper. I couldn't get the look I wanted and my weight was climbing fast so I turned to modifying the D90 bumper I had laying around. I trimmed alot of extra material, welded up some mounts and she was ready to go after baking on a couple of coats of textured black. I used my HR winch with some winch cable, scale hardware, and a hook all from LockedUpRC.com to complete the setup. Turns out this bumper Colby (a fellow RCC vendor) made for me is off by 1/4" on one side . She's crooked, lop sided and just overall rough. Needless to say this bumper is one for the scrap pile. I could cut one of the mounting tabs off, move it over where it should be and weld it back together, but with how much work it needs to get it presentable IMO it's not worth it. So I pulled this bumper that MJderstine (a good friend of mine) made for me when I did my D90 truck build and guess what...it fits. Not only does it fit, but it fits very well. I'll thicken up the shackle mounts and shoot it the same textured black that I did my front bumper. After that I'll look into mounting up the 10-4 Firestick antenna I got from Rick over at SuperShafty.com Next up, the sliders.
