Default 1967 Ford Courier Class-2 Build

Well I thought id start a new build thread for my 2014 Class-2 Rig that will be based on a 1967 Ford Courier Ute.

Bit of a Parts list-

- Proline 1967 Ford Courier Body (pretty rare body these days)
- HH BR-XL WP Esc on 3s
- Team Brood Apocalypse 35t
- ALTD896 Design's 3mm alloy chassis with revised rear upper link locations & skid mounted 10mm forward
- R2J Custom SS Links
- R2J Rear 4-link mount
- Hitec HS-7954SH Servo
- Proline Swamper XL Tyres
- Axial Beadlock wheels with MTH Delrin Beadlocks
- Axial Under & Overs and lockers
- Axial Alloy Rear Lockout C-hubs & Knuckles
- Homemade front 4-link mount
- RRP G-Box Internals
- MIP Drive shafts
- Traxxas Big Bore Shocks
- 3Racing CVD'S with Gunnar Pins

Started with my rig that ive been using for the last few years

New chassis & shocks

1967 Ford Courier Body

Dummy Link Lengths etc all done

Body Trimmed Mounted

More too come, still undecided on paint etc & need to get some proper links finished off.

Thanks guys,

The bad thing was that unfortunately I had to trim the body up a fair bit for the bigger tyres.

I may even go for a different tyre yet, ive basically just dummied up the rig at this stage so ill completely strip it back down and rebuild all the driveline with new bearing etc and ill proably go with some SS or alloy links, I also plan to paint the chassis as well.

Also been thinking of swapping from front steering setup over to VP Chubs/Knuckles and VP VVD's as well, but ill see how it all goes as ive still got a couple of mths before the new series kicks off..

Always loved Courier builds. Regret not building one when the bodies were available. Excited to see this through

Bit of an update, Ive had my Brood motor all freshened up by a mate Crawl ANZ - View topic - Motor Servicing... and ive pretty well got my body sorted, still wanna tint the windows.

Ive also got a new set of Axial beadlocks to go on as well.

Ive got the 1st round of our local comp season starting next weekend so she will be all ready by then.

Cool rig! Very clean and simple. I too love the Courier body. Did you switch over to Pitbulls? You started with the TSL's.

Thanks mate and yeah the old school Fords are pretty cool And I mainly just do competitions, I place 1st overall for our local series last year, so im hoping this new rig will help me maintain my title..

Finally got it all sorted ive also fitted up some new R2J SS Custom links to it as well..Hears a final pic of how it sits all ready for its 1st comp of the year this weekend

Gave it a good test run this morning and its working great im happy to say..

Looking good Clint! I was wondering what you where going to put those links on. Love the Couriers! I sure miss my old one.... FYI: with slight modification the ProLine Cherokee interior works pretty good in there.

Update, due to work commitments etc I ended selling the old blue Courier in this thread in 2014 and had a year or so away from crawling (good news is the old courier is still going strong and competing).

Anyway I'm back and I purchased a Scx10 Deadbolt a few mths ago so I can start coming again..

With a bit of reasearch and hunting I got lucky and located another 1967 Ford Courier Body, so it looks like a new build has stared today with a mockup of the body and started to trim etc, will be running in scale-2 so a fair bit of trimming is needed..
