Got a couple of packages in the mail today. First is a set of Lockedup RC's 1.9 Iconic 8L wheels in black.Found a set of some THP rings that just happen to be a perfect fit. Second was a package from RPP Hobby.Picked up some Pro-line 1.9 Super Swamper TSL's.Also got some 106mm links so I can finally get the WB dialed in after shortening up the front. Not sure if this is the final ring choice but, that will depend on if I can get someone to cut some others on our waterjet for me. |

Think I got the wheelbase where I want it.I'll have to wait for my R2J 4 link truss to get here so I can be sure. |

It's officially a roller now thanks to R2J's fast service with the 4 link truss. No more using a 1-2-3 block to keep the pinion level.Got the body holes done and cut off the front bumper. Now I need to finish cut the body and clean up the cuts and,get it painted. After that I can start figuring the rest out. Can't decide if I want to do a tube style bumper or,modify this to fit. Actually,I don't have that one anymore but,I do have another one that's almost finished.Never built the rig that one was planned for so,I never quite finished the remake. |

I really like the wheels.I especially like figuring out I still had a set of my old rings laying around. I also found a set of Fubar Trail Ready style rings while looking for something in the garage that I forgot I had. Quote:
I HAD to buy a new rig when they came out with this body. It's been on my wish list forever.

I agree with you on the rings. These just happened to be some leftovers in my toolbox.Got MTHead working on a different style that should show more of the wheel.

I'm drooling after checking out a couple of your pics. Got my lower links drawn and programmed. Now I just need some machine and personal time to match up. If anyone remembers my Scout and Wreckluse, the first pic will look familiar.Wanted something a little beefier than I did for the Scout so,I decided to combine the 2 styles for this build.Let me know what you think. The front links are shown. The rears are obviously going to be longer but,the same amount of lightening holes.I'll post pics of the actual links once they're done.

I need some opinions. After getting my RC4WD Warn winch,I'm thinking it looks too big for this build.Even though they advertise it as 1/10th scale, after getting some measurements from the Warn website and taking measurements,it scales out to an almost perfect 1/8th. Now I need to decide whether I use it anyway or,get a 3racing winch since it's smaller. What do you guys think? If I do use it,I'll have to design a bumper that has the winch sitting lower than I originally planned on. |

If it were me I'd say fawk it and use it. But if you are going for scale then get the right size one. Ill take that off your hands if you dont need it. |
