In spite of the things going on for me right now I made a little progress.Rear bumper is done.Still not the best brazing but,it'll do for now. Also, got some bars added to the slider plates.Did a much better job with the brazing on these after asking warpig for some advice.I'm still getting used to the oxy/mapp setup but,I think there may be some hope for me yet. Still need to sandblast, file and,get everything painted. |

Almost forgot. Not really wanting a roller fairlead,I designed a Hawse one to fit but, after getting MTHead to cut me a couple, not sure I'm happy with this version.I think the slot for the line is too big so,I'm going to do a 2nd version that will have a smaller slot. As the old saying goes,"It looked good on paper". Once I get the newer version done, the plan is to radius the opening for a smoother look. |

Small update, Got the new fairleads done.Hard to tell from the pic but,the slot has a .047 radius. If I ever make myself a new one,I'm planning on a .062 radius.Just didn't have a cutter.Would have got a closer up pic to show the details more but,for some reason,my camera isn't cooperating. Also got the sliders mounted (temporarily) and started some tube work. The plan to start,is an interior cage that will end up tying into the bumper mounts. Did get the rear bumper done but,got sidetracked and haven't mounted it yet. Will get a pic once I do. |

Even more progress.I better slow down or I'll ruin my reputation. The top, center bar has a slight radius up at the back so it sits level with the halo. I may have to redo one of the joints on the rear, horizontal bar but I won't be sure until I sandblast it tomorrow at work.I'm still getting re-used to brazing. Now I just need to add some diagonal door bars and I can bolt it back on to see how bad I did. | |

Got the door bars in and some filing done.I'll take it to work Tuesday so I can sandblast it and,get some primer on it.Then I can see if it's ready for paint or,if it needs a little more cleanup. After some measuring,I've found that it's a little off in a couple spots but,I can live with it.Figure it's a WHOLE lot better than my last attempt at a tuber. |

Cage is mounted and, actually fits right. Seems like a lot of work for something a lot of people won't even notice. Oh well.It gave me some practice and,a good starting point for taking the cagework further in the future. Also got the rear bumper halfway mounted.I need to find the right size drill for tapping where the nubs are on the rear crossmember. Now I need to get the right length screws for the rear links and,to refill the shocks.I think the cap came loose when trying to adjust ride height.Either that or,like a 1:1,it's a little front heavy. I also need to do a few things to the frontend now.I need to make a bent panhard bar.Where the frontend sits,it hits on the bracket. Also could use a slightly longer servo arm.The screw hits on the tie rod. It's always something. |

Damn Pat, this thing is so clean! That body is on my list of mandatory builds. After seeing Tim's at SWSC, I really have an itch to get one. Looking forward to the next update. |
