'57 chevy

not sure if this belongs in scale or not.
since i can't sleep much, last night i resurrected my old humvee. nothing special just wanted a beater that was a bit faster than my crawlers. i bought this thing back in '93 i think, not too sure. it has been a great little beater with no major issues. since the original body is trashed beyond use, i decided to paint up a body for it. this was on the shelf so it got the spray. hope you like it.

p.s. i forgot to paint the weatherstripping around the front and rear glass:x .... there is always something i screw up when i paint! no wonder i hate it.

That looks pretty sweet. I'm really digging that body.

BaddClod 10-26-2006 02:56 AM

Nice body and paint job.
Is that a Parma body???

ColquittCustom405 10-26-2006 07:27 AM

baddclod- yup, parma body. couldn't pass it up. on clearance a while back for $12.00.

1bjb- just keeping it stock. i wish it still had the original motor but i fried it years ago. now it has a 24 degree stock something or other in it. can't get 30+ minute run times anymore.:-( (17t pinion)

badger- thats what i was hoping!

NP435 10-26-2006 10:48 AM

That looks cool. Try putting a 55 turn in it, good run times, and it is still fast. That is what I did in my TA02.

chino63 10-26-2006 10:54 AM

yeah, i had a 55 turn in it for a while but not quite fast enough. i like how fast it is now. maybe faster? hmmmm....

Those are great rigs for just thrashin' around. Simple, rugged, and not so capable that they take the challenge out of a trail. You can crawl 'em with enough determination, but mud is their natural element

You can flip the rear arms around if you need to tweak the wheelbase, too ;-)

I am running the same body on my scaler/mudder. I was planning the run the same tires also, how do they like the mud/dirt?

What wheelbase are you guys running with that Parma body?

octigonwallrus 10-27-2006 05:27 PM

mines just a little too long at just under twelve inches. the tires i really have no idea i havn't had a chance to really run them yet but i know plenty of people on here have.
sorry for hijacking your thread chino,
that body would be sick on a touring car chassis.
