Got some spins for the Lift.....

I have two of these trucks, so I would like a wider wheel for the next one. Some one once made a 30 mm wheel for a touring car and I think it was HPI. Anyone have a set of those lying around?

I thought about those, I guess I need to order them and see if they will work and how they will look.

those wont work with 1.9 tires,only the vintage rubber from HPI will direct fit those rims,FYI.

i see no real way to modify them either,as there smaller then a 1.9,the vintage tires have a larger sidewall to compensate for the smaller rim.

they are listed as a 2"wheel. are you sure they wont they work?

This is the specs for the tires. You don't think the high lift tires are the same? Aren't they 1.9's? 1.9's fit touring car wheels. These wheels are just supposed to be wider.

Specs on 31mm tires....
SPECS: Outer Diameter: 2.5in (64mm)
Inner Diameter: 1.9in (49mm)
Width: 1.2in (31mm)

Specs on 31mm rims....
SPECS: Width: 1.22" (31mm) Diameter: 2" (52mm)

i have hpi vintage wheels,and the highlift tires are a horribly loose hooker sloppy kinda fit,ill take a pic tommoroww,im too lazy right now to take pics.

i dont understand why you would want a wider wheel? the tire actually will stretch making it shorter by quite a bit.i tried to widen my hi lift rims(26mm to 31mm)my axle clearance sucked!!!!!Tamiya makes 2 piece 31mm 5 spoke wheels, if you cut the inner lip off and shave down the outer webbing(to create a inner gluing surface), it looks really good plus the hex area is completly surrounded by dense plastic, it will NOT spin a hex. the outer lip is super deep too.

if you are planning on crawling with those wheels you need to add a front lip to it, i used a mini lst inside lip, it fits perfect.unfortunately thats not the onlly problem with those wheels. It seems that hpi thought that using the softest plastic they could fine would be the best material for these wheels.What does this have to do with anything, SPUN HEXES!!!!!!! i killed all 4 wheels(using 2.2's), i even CA'd the hexes in!They look cool though.I'm sure less torque would be put on the wheels if you were to run 1.9's though.
