I've done the XR mod with the full sized aluminum spline from RC Bros

Adds about 3/4" to your track width, this will be for a C3 rig so I didn't mind.
I run the same set up on a sporty as well. I like the no mod on the axle, it keeps the integrity of the housing and adds some strength on the knuckle end.
Be sure to add a couple screws on each side to keep it from spinning...you can see lone of mine in the first pic.

Trying a few different tire locations. This provides a built-in bump stop for the suspension :ror:

got the front suspension and axle figured out. Just waiting on axle shafts to get shipped. next up interior-i think I can piece together a interior from a wraith.

Axle was going to have the XR mod but I didnt like that is was so wide. I cut 12mm off the beef tube and cut the housing back to the shock mount location. Now I can use clockable chubs for better pinion angle and steering. Just about stock width by doing this, maybe a 1/2 wider. over all is about 7.5" you can see from the pic with the tire that it will have a nice stance.

Undecided on tires for this build :roll: 1.9 proline sx xl, pitbull rock beast or axial treps. Give me your feedback on tires "thumbsup"

I love my pitbulls, best tire I ever owned but the only other tire I owned was a trepador. They made a huge difference in my truck. They go through about anything. The treps were to skinny and would fold under the rim when I would turn, maybe that had to do with my foams. The treps weren't that good in loose dirt and mud. I think they would go better with some weight. Hope that helps.

finally a roller and no the 2.2 aren't staying, they were all i had with rims at the time. also finished the narrowed xr mod front axle. its bullet proof

Looking good! I'd go with pitbull rockers or some rok lox for 1.9's. I love mine.

I'm about to finish up my narrow XR mod too!

Might be worth waiting for the 1.9 growlers and running something you have around for awhile.

Yeah that's a tough one if you don't have a decent set of tires kicking around to use in the meantime. Rock beasts are really, really good tires. You really can't go wrong there, but I think a little extra height is good too. The TSL SX XL seem like they would be a good tire but I have no experience with them.
What about the new 1.9 Krawler?

I'm using the proline 1.9 xl on my jk and they are awesome. They hook up on rocks as well as soft terrain. Best tire that I've used but I've never ran a pitbull. It could be a bias opinion but when i judge or watch our comps it seems like the pro lines hook up the best, but it could be because i have them lol. I hope the growler have a descent width between the lugs, I think that's what helps the prolines in the soft stuff. I had them in 2.2 and those were great too. I like the height of the proline over the rock beast that last 1/4" can make all the difference :lmao: My stock set of trepadors could be used to get me by, just need foams.

I know a few of us are running the CI single stage foams in our pit bulls which does give up a little traction but they handle way better if you run some wheelspeed and they side hill great. I chose them since my rig was a g6 rig before it was my comp rig. The new comp rig will have 2 stage foams. I'm willing to give up a little traction for the better handling specially for a G-ride.

The new Krawlers look great and I think I read they are 4.75" so that makes them a contender for me. I'm hoping the mad beasts work on the C2 though.

I might just have to wait till the growlers get released. I saw the mad beast at the last comp. I can't remember who was running them. They looked horrible , didn't seem like they would hook up at all. It's to bad because they look very scale

Yeah I'm a bit scared after hearing that. I'd hate to get to swsc with tires that suck.

You need to do some testing with before you go if you already bought them. I would bring a spare set! If you haven't bought them I wouldn't based on what I saw. Every truck and driving style is different so who knows you may like them for your setup.
