| n00b's Class 2 - Surprise! It's a Toyota!
It's been a while since I hit the "New Thread" button. I've been gathering parts and working on this little project for a few weeks. I'm building it for the 2014 RC4WD ECSC in August. Since I don't have much time to build toy trucks these days I decided to blow most of my yearly budget on this one. Plus it's for a comp and I want to fit in and be cool and sign autographs. The axles were built with parts I never would've normally used... or paid for. I think there was some more stuff too but I forget. Here's the chassis stuff. SCX10 with a Super Shafty Bomb Proof transmission attached to a GCM motor mount, MIP drive shafts and GCM transfer case. I'm not going to have crazy power in this, probably just a 35t on 3S. GCM double servo mount and Vanquish titanium tie rod. I'm a professional toy truck guy now. RC4WD Compass tires on 1.9 Motoworx wheels with Locked Up scale bolts. As for the body... I don't know exactly but it'll be a Toyjunka of some kind. I want to keep it simple due to my lack of time and skill. Stay tuned. |

Suplise! You're gonna have to build something more n00b-ish after this; those parts are actually freaking me out a little. Good luck, sir! I look forward to seeing more. Last edited by Lentsnh2012; 04-11-2014 at 08:01 PM. |

Do you have anybody contracted to watch you do things and hold other things for you?

I'm thinking 3rd gen Toyota pickup body. sgtbham inspired me to build one after see how nice his turned out. This one will be all chopped up though. Quote:
I already have someone lined up to hold my beer but you could hold his beer while he's holding mine. You could also watch him while he watches things. If you want to hold my Sharpie for me you can. I'm going to need a spare after all of the autographs I'll be signing when people see my toy truck competition prowess.

I'm liking it! There aren't too many 3rd Gen Toyotas out there; it'll be a nice and fresh look. If you wanted to get really wild, you could do a 4Runner body as well.

Body is done. Oops. This is the one. The chassis now has rolling capabilities. Front suspension is complete. There are some leftover Gelande 2 parts in the mix. Cwalrer. |

I'm not really a fan of RAV4's, but this seems okay.
