Arnel's 2DR

Started this a while ago, but here's some pics to date.
In the beginning.

Got the mayhems from Travis aka kaneohcrawler with the r35 treps.
Picked up the body sprayed some paint on it, started trimming the fenders, and welded up a front bumper.

Which is just a dummy. At this point.

Re: Arnel's 2DR

Used some 3/16" styrene tube, heated with a heat gun and dremel a slot in the back to fit over what remained of the fender on the body.

Threw some black paint on em. And made some body armor for the sides

Re: Arnel's 2DR

No room for the servo winch in the front so I made an aluminum plate in the rear and bent up some brake line as a line guide.

Re: Arnel's 2DR

Thanks Travis! Yeah I just need a more powerful servo now this Vaterra servo struggles, but then again I rarely use it anyways. I should have my re machined trailready rings today or tomorrow

Arnel -- thank you so much for sharing a build thread on this rig. I had seen a couple of pics in other threads, but was hoping to see more. What I really appreciate is you accomplished an amazing looking Jeep without much welding, brazing or other metal work. It makes such a build more attainable for those of us without welding equipment or brazing skills. The fender treatment with 3/16 rod is especially creative and well done.

Definitely one of my favorite Jeeps on RCC.

Steve- the side plates for the body are made from tin plated steel, you get two sheets for a couple bucks at any hobby store and they can be cut with a pair of good scissors. Light weight and simple :)

Changed up the rings to the re machined Tr rings and threw in some iroks I got from 322 aka Paul.
Not sure how I'll like the tires on here, but noticed my back end is a little heavy due to the tire carrier

Just stiffen the rear a little bit. Looks pretty sweet.

Re: Arnel's 2DR

I'll stiffen it with a long chassis taking up room on my bench!
