Default U300 Mog (56K, Lots '0' Pics)

Hi all

Welp, the Mog is out of a long hibernation. Been tinkering with it lately. Finally made a deal and got the original plow coming for it. Also picked up a Bruder trailer for it too, not pictured. Got some High Lift tires from Jeckler few weeks ago, perfect for the Mog. Everything works, the winch is fully proportional and the bed works as well. When I get the plow, it will be functional too from the radio. Adding lights when I get some time. Not really a crawler by any means but more of a scale utility truck

That is awesome! You are right the high lift tires fit perfect. What servo are you using for the dump bed? Can it handle much of a load?

Wow. To the untrained eye it would be difficult to discern that from the real thing.

Great use of the XC chassis! Where can one find a real mog toy body? All I have found are ripoff mogs.

John, this particular body is from a toygrade rc Mog made by Dickie, a company from Germany.

So is the chassis and drivetrain basically stock then?

Thanks for the kind comments! Will for sure get some pics and perhaps a video once the plow is set up. Might be awhile, starting a new job Monday and won't have much time to tinker. Plow will be a bit of a challenge to adapt and get it to do what I have in mind. Also need to invent some sort of gear reduction for this thing. Too quick, not much torque either. Bauteil makes a sweet little gear reduction package for the XC chassis. Gonna study it some more and make one for me-self.

For now...... an older video showing winch and bed working. This is pretty old, last year maybe or perhaps even 2004.

I'm loving the tilt bed. I wonder if you should put a ball bearing on it for smoothness and to create less friction so if there is a load it won't burn a small line in the bed.

Actually, I think I am gonna make a channel for the ball on the new lift arm design to ride in. Maybe out of Delrin or some other slippery material. It'll make the bed a bit more stable too if there was a track for the arm to follow. Got lots of ideas, love tinkering with this little vehicle.

Great truck there Bill. I was wondering when you were going to bring it back out.

Hows the S10 project coming along?

I think someone else asked but what servo are you using for the tilt bed?

Man, I don't remember what servo I used for the bed. Maybe an old 645 Hi-Tec? Meanwhile, got the plow and whipped up a few pieces to get it installed. It is fully operational from the radio of course. Stuffed a 3.8:1 inline planetary in it too finally to gear it down to a more scale speed. Much easier to drive now and goes anywhere. Added a few other details as well, just little scale pieces here and there. Also picked up a New Ray Yale fork lift that is the perfect scale and not to mention a TON of fun! LOTS of pics..... 'Tis all for now. Dunno what might be next for it, probably get a trailer hitch made up for my Bruder trailer that is sitting here. Might make a trailer for me fork lift too

Why suuuuuuuure the fork lift is RC . Got it off E-Bay for $20 shipped. Had to rework it a little but for the price, it is waaaay cool. It'll get a few other mods, steering sucks on it. Yeah, snow would be nice here too! Ever since I got the plow put together, installed and working........... no snow! Did push a little dirt around the other week, works fairly well but snow is the real test.
