Default bmuzz1's Class 2/G6 '66 F100 Pre Runner

After beating the snot out of the '49 Merc at the Tombstone and Cards G6 in Prescott a couple weeks ago I have decided to retire the body and build something new for dual use that will be more suited to the G6 events then the Merc was.
The problem with the Merc in a G6 wasn't it's capability but more its lack of storage area for things like tow ropes and sand ramps.

Inspiration for the new build comes from this truck...

The only real change that will take place in my build is to the rear cage area and in the way of lights. I will be removing the bed sides and bolting them to the rear cage work. The roof top light bar and front bumper light will be CDL units, 5.5" up top and 2" on the bumper.
This is kind of what I have in mind for the rear cage work...

The cab will be complete with a Dinky R/C Honcho interior and interior cage but will be removable for battery access rather then have the battery in the rear of the truck. I have some ideas for the cab mounts that should be pretty slick but the hood will probably still have posts but we'll see.

As for a parts list, it'll be everything from my Merc...
CC SV3 waterproof esc
HH 27t
Hitec 7950
KMS winch
CDL V2 LED lights 5" & 2"
built tranny with C.I. outputs and all RR gears
Maxx shafts
axles with Beef tubes front and rear, O.D. Front, HD rear, VP 8* knuckles, Axial C's, RC4WD Extreme CVD's, Locked Up F1 spools and OT straight axles
STRC 4 link
Locked Up Iconic wheels with Gridlock rings, scale hardware and 225 SLW hubs
Pit Bull Rock Beast 1.9's
C.I. Deuces Wild foams
Ti lower links
Hand Bros CMS
DinkyR/C Honcho interior
Pro Line '66 f100 body #3415
BM HPI MTT rear lower trailing arms
R2j sliders
Rc-Lighthouse custom rear tail lights
Axial Wraith front sway bar kit in the rear

Me to Jon. This will be the most tube work I have ever done on one build but since most of it is pretty straight it should go fairly quick. the interesting part will be figuring out how I'm mounting the cab.

Lol! Yours was one of the reasons I wanted to build one......and also Warpiggy's truggy he ran in C2 at SWSC. I'm leaning towards something in between the two.

I have you covered on that! Of course I will be making a set of FSL-2's for my build so two sets can be made pretty easy. I need to go pick up my body today at Hobbytown, then get some measurements. Also going to make a set of custom rear links to get to the longer wheelbase and a custom cut "C" channel chassis.

I need to find out which trailing arms will work best for my build, if I can find a set of plastic TH rear links that I could play with maybe I can get BM to make me a set.
I'd be down for a set of FSL-2's for sure.

Check out Zonkerds latest build, he used VP Hammers trailing arms. Link:Sacramento Scaler GTG/Comps I just ordered the VP trailing arms and the new TSS chassis and delrin skid for mine. These are being made for a 1.9 trail class in u4. Pics are of mine.

Thanks guys for the offers and info. If I could get the specs from the HPI and TH links that would be great.
I'll try to bolt up the chassis to get a accurate measurement this weekend.

Do it Shon, I have a feeling a custom length will be needed but hopeful I can use something off the shelf.

I am really excited to start the bed cage on this build so I'll need to start mocking things up pretty quickly.
