Default The Purple Nirple

I built this truck about a year ago so it may seem weird for me to be starting a build thread now. However, I am in the middle of some major visual upgrades such as wheels, tires, and a new custom body. Here are some of the older pics.

This truck even earned me second place at our I door scale series.

I noticed that the tires I was running seemed to slip where everyone else had grip. I originally was content just fighting through it, but it is now time for an upgrade.

I decided to go with the new rc4wd compass tires, stuffed them with crawler innovations super swamper single stage foams, and then wrapped them around some dick cepek 1.9s.

With the wheel and tire upgrade I decided to build a new more detailed body. I am currently taking on that task. It has been a large challenge so far and I am no where near done.

And that is where it stands for now. There will be more to come in the future.

Got some more work in last night. The passenger door jam is almost done. I also used a little Tamiya putty and started to smooth out some of the lines on the styrene work.

Nice.. I like the inner fender work.

I'm kind of in the same boat with my Tundra. I never made a build thread since I was taking forever then was rushed to finish it for SWSC. I may make a "tune thread" now though.

I trust you're going to fill the mounting holes on the bottom of the body right? Make that answer a yes!

Than you man. and I understand the whole being rushed thing and it not turning out the way you would like. I have been down that road several times.

Got a little bit of time to get started on the interior tonight. This is going to be slow going. I tried to start with the dash and then Tore everything back out. Then I decided to start with the more hidden parts of the cage. I think that the floor has to come next. Anyway. First test fit on the chassis looks pretty good.

Floor pans and fire wall are in. Test fitting to clear the tranny was tough.

More progress today on the tundra. I finally found some inspiration to start the dash. Doesn't look like much yet, but it is getting there. Also cut the bed up.

Default One tuff Tundra

More interior work for the Tundra today. It is starting to come along. Got a dash in, more if the interior cage, and the floor and tranny tunnel are complete. Also started working on the bed. Not sure I really like it yet, but then again I am just getting started on it.

Closed off the rest of the interior tonight. Started in on making a seat, and got one step closer to finishing the bed.

Thanks man. This is definitely the most involved body build I have done so far. As for the stance I run full droop. Have for a while and love it.
