Default "34 Ford Boyer Truggy

Just starting this, looking for ideas 'n' stuff.

This is what I have so far...

Boyer truggy chassis.

'34 Ford Pick up

I've run into a couple snags already...

Front shock mounting.

The front of the truck is so narrow, the shocks won't fit under the body. I was thinking I might try and use Dinky's cantilever system on the front????

Interior

Is there an interior kit that would look good modified a little to fit or is it gonna have to be all custom?

Any suggestions or ideas are more than welcome.

I did some suspension work today, but I'm not really sure about the front shock location.

I got the body to sit a little bit lower too.

Dremel.

A nice cut out of the body, or do a fenderless hoodless version with a scaler engine bay and all that stupid shit.

That would be cool but I drive the shit out of my trucks and it wouldn't last long. I was trying not to hack the fenders but I think your probably right.

Fenders wouldn't last on a 1.1. Just sayin..

If you hack the fenders off, you will probably have a lot more work to make it look right, be that a good or a bad thing; either way it'll be a sick rig..

I wouldn't hack the fenders off. At most cut a hole for the shock to go through. What's wrong with having the shocks inboard like you have now? As long as you have no suspension bind.

I think, with some tuning I could make the shocks work inboard like that but my space is limited under that narrow body.
After looking at it again I think I can get away with 1/2" hole for the shock to poke through.

I want the room between the shock towers for electronics.
I also want to mount a 2 speed forward with a trans case. I still need room for a battery.

That narrow hood and low slung fenders are really going to complicate things, but you love a challenge right?

Leaf the front? That would be sick as hell!

Ummm, 2 speed AND a T-case? That'll be sweet if you can pull it off. You're gonna run out of real estate under the lid really quick though

Maybe a large toolbox in back for the battery, and the electronics somewhere in the cab? It's hard to say where everything will fit without having the parts in hand.

I see lots of head scratching in your future, carry on!

I would leaf it but I have to keep up with that '57 Chev. I am running out of real estate. I'm just kinda throwing stuff around to see what I can come up with.

Head scratching.....I think I have a bald spot already.

I know how it is to have a vision of the final product, only to hit one snag after another.

You may have to drop the 2 speed down a bit for better D.S. angles, giving you a bit more room inside. You should also have room out back under the bed for an Axial gas tank/ radio box. The shock mount issue is a tough one, luckily the 57 cab I used is big and fat! If you end up hacking the fenders off, you could always fab up something simple out of sheet steel or aluminum.

Just spittballing ideas here .

Sweet project, by the way

Did some more brain storming tonight. Trying to find a good way to mount my 2 speed.

Looks like it might work.

I didn't have to hack the body too badly, I'm happy with it.

Looking good. What brand of body is that? Where did you get it? Good luck with the rest of the build?

Progress!

What did you figure out for shock placement? I know that was an issue.

I moved the shocks back to where they belong. Just needed to cut some holes in the fenders.
Once I get the trans mounted solid I will be trying to find a way to mount the shift servo.
