Default Styrene question

What thickness is best to work with?
I am wanting to try, might be over stepping my ability, but I would at least like to try. I did body work on real cars for years...thanks

I like to use .040" as the basis for 1/10 scale, and .060" as a base for larger scales. The .040 is easy to work with and pretty forgiving. Thinner sheet's can be used and present issues that may be good and bad. Sheets as thin as .020" are great for layering and adding contours and details, but can warp where ever the glue is applied. There are tons more aspects to working with styrene. Stroll through the Paint and Body section, use the search function for styrene, and you should find everything to help out. Then ask specific questions, and we'll be here for ya. If you haven't done styrene before, practice by building smaller items that are simpler like a tool box, or maybe some hand tools. You can use these later on for details in a rig. Good luck.
