Front axle is too far forward. Gotta redo the steering.

Wish I did this sooner. Thought about for awhile but lived with the flex. It's solid enough to last one comp.

Almost RTR weight. Rear shocks will go up a hole but other than that I think I'm done with the drivetrain. Wheelbase is 12.6 Last edited by djjiz; 10-14-2014 at 10:16 AM. |

Going back to big bores. Don't trust the shock cap mod. Spent a good hour on the transmission. Really don't like the way the SuoerShafty top shaft works. They really didn't think out the pin hole placement IMO and sets the bearings up for failure. Panels need one last coat of paint Drive train is ready to go Battery mount is done Still need to mount the Rx but that's about it. Truck won't be pretty but it will be ready to comp on Sunday |

Dang Chad that looks good. Looking forward to seeing it in person. Intrigued to see how it performs relative to your cheater wraith chassis.

Half tempted to send it with Billy so he can run it. Doesn't look like I'm getting out of work. |

Painted the panels but I'll probably remake them out of thicker lexan. There are spider cracking around the screw holes. And the chassis still needs final tweaking before paint. The top shock mounts aren't accessible with a driver or old school Allen wrench. |

The screws don't need to be super tight that's probably why there cracking. I've never had that problem and for the top shock mount can you just snug them up with some needle nose pliers ?

I over tightened the panel. No doubt about that. I'll work on the shocks tomorrow. So far I've spun the screw to thread towards and away from the chassis and used three or four styles of rod ends/ shock caps and they all have given me a little trouble on the same corners. Needle nose might be the only way to get the 4" shocks happy. |
