The motor will probably be ok. Now the transmission and the motor mount on the other hand. Those are in for a beating.

Axial gears and aluminum case are in the mail. Also mounting the plate to three other places. Aircraft aluminum and it was a fawker to work with but I'm pretty happy with the results

Everything in the front end is as close to moving parts as it gets. I can move a millimeter here or there but that's it. Cut the fan off the rx8 so hopefully that'll fit low enough in the seat area that I can get the interior looking kinda scale. 4s Lipo should hopefully fit in the rear with a exo motor cover more likely velcroed to the top of the packs. Other than that there is no compromise to performance. |

Couple new parts installed. Full aluminum axial brand tranny gears. Fawkers cost too much but they spin very nice by hand. Used AMSOil synthetic tacky grease and it definitely lives up to theight name. Custom cut 300m tranny pins, idler gear shaft, and top shaft. The super shafty piece was way softer than I expected and this should hold up nicely. There's zero slop at the moment but I'm sure that will change. Been playing with MIP drive shafts to get the most tooth engagement as possible. Also stuffed the rx8 down low. Seats will fit with minimum modding and there will eventually be a simple dash made off of the motor plate. Last edited by djjiz; 12-30-2014 at 09:55 PM. |

There's no room for any errors in the front end. All the hard work of keeping the interior will pay off in the end. Looking forward to finally getting to put some paint on this thing.
