Went to matzilla website and there is nothing. How do you get ahold of these chassis? Or get info on them?

I have to say that I have seen some impressive builds posted before but this just looks like something that should come out of the box like that, I could never order that many parts from various manufactures and have them all play nice and match up that well. I dont even want to guess what you paid just in shipping to get those parts down under, I have tried shipping stuff up to USA from Australia (1:1 car parts) and the bill was always way more than originally planned.

i've tried not to add up the costs, but i've seen some good $$ leave my wallet lol
postage to Aus is not always the cheapest thats for sure, some orders have been more in postage than the item i've bought :(

Yeah I had to get a bellhousing for a toyota diesel from down under and it cost more to ship it than I paid, nearly double if I remember correctly. Still though not many prisons allow mail like that to pass through so I guess we are both lucky lol. (meant in good humor ofcourse)

ok its time for a mega update with lots of pics so be warned

bought some tools for various builds, the main exciting item here is the 0.5mm sheet aluminium underneath it all...

finally have a complete spare wheel...

starting to make the panels...
i started out on the side as they were the easiest shapes..

no i didnt use the scalpel and ruler, these were cut with snips

most of the side panels complete along with the roof..

using the tape method to make a template, mark out the holes for the shock hoops and the screw holes..

almost done with the panels...

finished the rear panels.. they are all in separate pieces, might remake them one day and combine a few of the panels..

poser shots galore...

then i started on making a platform for the ESC to sit on..

i screwed up one of the measurements when marking out the platform and cut it wrong..
that gave me the opportunity to remake it with some added supports for the screw tabs and in general neaten up the final product

and thats the end of the updates for now..

next steps are to complete the electronics mounting and then move onto boxing in the battery and some finish touches here and there..

paint will come at the very end as thats the hardest part to decide on for me lol

thanks Josh.. sometimes those ideas that you have in your head work out exactly as you had planned

i've also worked on a battery tray/shield to fit the U4RC rules so it cant be seen and thats worked out quite well too..

one slight modification to the height so the bonnet sits flat and its now done..

That's exactly how I did it in my Wraithzilla. Something I always planned to change on my Ultra4.

3S 2200 fits without issue, with room to grow in size a little..

it does sit a little more rear than I wanted because of the angle sides, but I prefer that over having a box shape protrude into the wheel arches

another pic heavy update...

so i decided i wanted something a little different and decided to add a grill piece to the chassis..
the idea is to mount some lights on either side and either cut out the grill or do it easy and use decals...

this is all very prototype at the moment and the front view shows it needs some shape to it..

i had a look at making an inner fender, but didnt like it so remove it...

i never liked the radiator mount so with some of the scrap aluminium made a piece to mock up a roof extension...

this is another option and what i ended up doing..
it needed to allow access to the screw that holds the lid onto the fuel cell radio box..

then i shaped the corners of the grill roughly and i like the results compared to the previous pic show in this post above...

its hard to see but i did make some panels to close in the rear of the cab somewhat..

i'll end this update with a couple poser shots...

i'm going to call the panel work finished for now so i can move onto the electronics..
with it all running i can move onto the paint scheme, something i'll stress about before laying down some colour

the final step will be mounting up some lightbars on the visor of the roof, the rear either side of the radiator panel in the top corners and also onto the grill..
i think i've decided to use the Maddog RC lightbars in either the 4" or 120mm ultrabrite and the single led lights

i had hoped to finish this before Sunday next weekend but i doubt i have the time to do so (definately wont have the lights)..
its so close to finished now i can hardly wait, its been a while since i started this build
