Default "What will I be" C2 by MJDerstine

Hey guys,

looks like i am going to be rebuilding my C2 Ftoy. a good friend, Kunas wanted to take a shot at the Ftoy frame.
So, not its time for me to build another one of my own. All i have is the chassis and a HIlux seat to start with. and about as much 3/16 tube as i need.

time to start the build. hope to have something done by the end of the weekend. its a holiday of course.

the plan will be to make some sort of cage and paneled body, but i want to to try and make the interior as scale as i can. the HIlux interior should be a good start.

hang tight for build pics.

well i got the basic shape done. on to the pics.

the cab/seat will be about an inch or more more forward than it would normally be. i am hoping it gives it a distinct look when its done, and not just look wrong. either way should be able to get the other little bits done this week. then its on to making all the panels and finding spots for all the elecs.

got half way done and didnt like the slope on the hood. i'll have to come up with another way to hide the spur gear cover now. but this will look better in the end.

hey guys, it's me again.

got the top rails and the sides on tonight. lots of staring at it and looking at angles. not sure if its all gonna look right in the end. but i can always rebuild some parts. first is the rear. it sits to high. i think ill just have to shorten those vertical posts that it is brazed too. might have to do the same on the front too. shouldn't be too hard, just work.

braze joints are going together well. love this thicker walled tube i get from MSCdirect.

also, think i am going to have to cut the interior because once the frame is done i wont be able to install this one unless i cut the thing in half on the floor board.

oh and gotta make some shock hoops for the front. more fun stuff.

then its electronic mounts, battery mounts. water proof the new MMP. and get it all buttoned up before next weekend. my GF is gonna hate me.

hey guys. well looks like i didnt take any pictures of this thing outside, but i took some of it together the night before the comp.

the thing ran great. but that is as i hoped since its the same as the FTOY, but with a slightly different tube work, and transfer case setup. i forgot to waterproof the sensor plug on the motor, si my run was cut short, but it was working great before that. the tekin 13.5 on 3s has quite a bit of pep.

here are some ugly pics. still need interior work, but its mostly done.

and again photobucket screws me with rotated pics.

Yeah yeah...
It's an empty tank too. Not sure why it wasn't in the trash.

You're also not the first to notice my trash can. For some reason people love it as a truck stand!!

Had a chance to get some 1.9 growlers on this guy. Haven't tested them yet but hoping they go as well as they look.

Also put all sorts of stickers on it. Because why not?

Had to completely rebuild how the transmission mount was on the chassis. There were way too many binding issues. So a night with the torch and some pliers and she back on. No more binding. Also put in a 550 brushed motor and an fxr. Fun fun
