Default Bananaclip's Trail Toy

I did something that I have never done before. I picked up a rig in the for sale section that was built by someone else. I purchased this little gem because it was built by a few great builders on the forum and it came with a slew of top shelf parts to boot. After a series of unfortunate events the truck finally arrived to me. This brings us to this build. The plan is to tear down and make it mine ....

What i received minus electronics and drive train.....

The rear bumper support was tweaked on the left side and was in the body. I was happy that it didn't crack the bed during shipment.

Out came the dremel and I proceeded to cut stuff up.

The front bumper was nice but didn't fit my taste. The rear bumper was very nice and I am going to change up a bit and use.

Traced out the thin bumper supports on a little beefier material

These should do the job

Started on the new front bumper

New rocker protection was also in order

This is all the pics I have for now. I made some more progress today and will get the pics up later...

Props for the Lowbrow Customs and Dime City stickers. I hope you're putting a scale brat bike in the back. :P

Yeah... I started 3 years ago with a free Honda cb since then I have fully rebuilt/restored/fully customized 5 vintage bikes. I just finished my T140v and next is my 69 Triumph T120 bobber.

I would love to run yota axles for the look but they havent proven to be very dependable. I have a few sets of fully loaded scx axles but I haven't decided as of yet. I might cut down some ar60's and shave the bottom of the diff's. Or if gcm would release their new axle housings that could work to.

Yeah the shop is a must when you do metal work. Metal dust in the kitchen wouldn't work out very well with the wife. 1/10 scale is were its at for me....

I am off Monday and Tuesday.. That's when I will get some more work done. I will try to sneak some stuff in between now and then to post.

I built a 2.2 rig out of the 4130 to see what was so special about the stuff. I am now hooked. It's kinda pricey but I put so much time into these builds I want them to withstand some abuse if need be.

I have a general vision as to where I want this build to go. Of course we all change our mind along the way. One thing I can tell you that is going to happen is with the body. I really like the paint and stripes but I cannot stand the holes/hardware at the bottom of the doors. Also I'm doing a separate mount for the bed. I separated the bed and cab on my first yota build several years ago and love that look. So.....I will be sanding, filling holes, adding a few details to the body, separating the cab and bed and laying down a new paint scheme.

Thank you sir. I am very happy you are watching the build. The bumper obviously isn't done, I'm waiting on a proper frame to show up so I can finish it up.

I'm in the same boat. I picked up a great body used, but I want to separate the body from the bed, so I'll have to repaint. I can't find the correct color to match the body.

I'm up in the air on the next color scheme.

Looking forward to seeing you knock this outta the park.

I think I'm going to toss out this offer to someone. Instead of sanding the paint on this body, I am willing to trade this body and the rack that is made for the bobbed bed for a new primer grey TF2 body kit. If someone is interested in this shoot me a pm. I will put the offer in the trade section later. The paint job and decal combo is done very well and I don't want to sand someone's hard work. Oh the bobbed bed is done very well to!
