And tell me plz how you made this rusty weathering? Whats the metod and material?

I used a technique that involves layers of paint and salt, basically you spray on a rusty colour and while it's still wet sprinkle slat in the areas you want rust to appear. Then paint as per normal and scratch off the salt afterwards.. It's pretty simple really!

In the bigger areas I add more rust using an antiquing solution. This is waht I used but there are others out there;

Initially I had the idea of building a mini-me of my Cherokee using a Proline body and an SCX. It would have done the job just fine, tough and simple. But I just couldn't bring myself to be seen in public with a lexan shell.......





So this one got shelved.... I've stripped the running gear out of it to use in the YJ build...

This Cherokee looks amazing. Great work man!!!! I'm looking at doing a Cherokee body for mine.

It's in bits now! It gave up it's running gear for this build.

Working on my XJ Briarwood has inspired me to get this one finished too.. There isn't alot left to do but a couple of tricky bits were enough to bring the build to a bit of a halt.
One issue was the output shaft on the HPI gearbox being 3mm and the transfer case being 5mm. In the end I made a sleeve up that was a press-fit in the coupling and then drilled and tapped the clamping hole through that to lock it all together. This solved that problem.

The next thing that needed attending to was a cage. No Jerp should venture out without protection!

So out with the brakeline and the bender!

It's a pretty simple cage but I think it suits the look of the build.

I decided to crack out my spare SSD axle housings and I'm glad I did! It looks soooo much better!

I did a test run around the rock garden and it all appeared to be ok. Hopefully I'll be able to crack out the good camera and get some decent pics!
