Default RcBros Taco-stein Build

Well, I think its only fair the Taco Time comes back from the dead and with enough tools, parts and power it will be "ALIVE" once more.

This will be a new build for me, as I haven't jumped into the scale bandwagon for awhile now. While building this rig, I hope to learn some new camera skills as well. So bare with me!

A Majority of the parts have arrived, and several aspects of this build have yet to be decided or finalized. I've decided to quit waiting and to just start mocking up and see where it takes me.

Current Specs Below:

Chassis:
Ty's Taco Time V1 Chassis, Class 2 plan
VP 3 link and Ti link set
RcBros Upper link Twist

Wheels & Tires:
Brand undecided.. 1.9's likely. 2.2 if they will fit legally?
TBD on Wheels. Stock Walker Evans for mockup

Front Axle:
Super Shafty Locker
Rcbros Burly Tubes
VP VVD's
VP Scale Wraith Chubs and Knuckles
RC4x4 Stainless Tie Rod and Drag Link
Axial Over-Drive HD Gears

Rear Axle:
Axial Under-Drive HD Gears
Creepbob Ti rear shafts
Super Shafty Locker

Transmission:
Stock with Steel Gears
Driveshafts TBD

Electronics:
CCBEC
Motor and ESC TBD
FlySky RX
Winch TBD

Servo:

TBD

MISC:
VP 2" LightbarRC4WD Fuel Sale

Suggestions along the way welcome! Hope you enjoy.

as far I know wheel size doesn't matter as long as the tire is no more than 4.75" tall.

This is the part I'm worried about

"the inside of the front tires cannot extend outside of the width of the cab at the doors."

I will mockup with XR10 width burly tubes, and then go from there.

No I want to build it, so I get some credit this time. You can organize my tools or something.

Gonna do an interior?
Maybe a little less light in your photo booth

That would have more to do with tire width and what size hub you use wouldn't it? You might need to do standard width tubes.

Yes on interior. How detailed? That depends on my skill set. The white backgrounds are challenging to say the least. Not sure if my T2i is up to the challenge along with my photoshop skills.

Axial overdrive gears and Super Shafty lockers are purty pieces. Its always a shame these will be hidden.

That is correct, this chassis is alittle on the narrow side. Mockup first, then I'll make some decisions. Just so happens I know the burly tube guy

that's for sure on all counts
Not sure what a T2i is....sounds like an automatic exposure type camera ? Try bouncing your light into your booth instead of pointing it right at your subject.

I'll shut up if you want...

In due time...

Turns out I jumped the ball on this build and forgot the basics Made a bearing kit order over at FastEddyBearings Ball bearings & RC Bearing kits can't beat the price and he ships fast!

Looks like the hardware I have for the ring gear needs a shorter hex head to clear the bearing as well Plus ordered some no slop knuckle bushings.

In the mean time, I can finish mocking up some suspension items. The VP kit will not likely all work for my application, but it gets me to a starting point, and extra Ti links are always a good thing!

Cannon Rebel T2i. I can't find the happy medium point between shooting and editing.

Got the front temporary mocked up. No internals and no RcBros collars for now. The VP scale Chubs are a nice touch. They do require some light tapping to get onto the chubs, but with the clamping design no drill and tap needed.

VP Panhard axle mount installed. I have a Hand Bro's on stand by just in case clearance is an issue.

That is it for today. Nothing to special.

Will, I leave my polerizer filter on even when I'm shooting inside with flash.
