So I actually went out with the rig yesterday for its first run and went like clockwork! Such a fun, scale little rig.

I love the stance! Low and narrow with just the perfect tire poke typical of weekend wheelers here in Australia
By law here, the tires are not actually allowed to protrude from the arches/flares.
Everything pretty well tucks up into the guards under flex as well

Direct from the GCM website would be the best bet, they are based in Canada so it took a while to get to me down here in Australia via the regular post option.

Always remember to check water depths before crossing deep water obstacles..

After posting the first photo on our local Facebook crawling group, someone responded with this great picture of the real thing if you don't do your proper checks..

Did you have to modify the rampage bumper to fit? When i tried to mount mine it rubbed on the drag link for the steering.

All I did was cut the mount down so it is out the way of everything

We may have to make the next front axle and off centre pumpkin, just to keep everything in scale.

A couple weeks ago I got some mini erevo shocks off a mate with the idea of making up my own cantilever shock setup and got it installed on the inside of the rails prior to the 2nd comp round of this year that we had on Sunday.

I also flipped the servo/motor/trans to the otherside side of the chassis to help fit the electronics in better. You can also see that I changed the front shocks to Icons running the orange firm mini t springs.

Last chassis tweak I did was remove the front hulksta truss in favour of a simple 3 link mount that comes off the axle link/shock mount. Cleans the front up a bit and gives more panhard clearance. Don't have any photos of it unfortunately.

It's comp time. Off with the doors!

Some running shots from Sundays comp, we had a pretty good turnout for C1.
I didn't do to great due to some silly driving errors but a dnf on the last course hurt me really bad when I broke the transfer driveshaft..

I had my front mount servo winch ready to mount up before the comp but didn't bolt it on due thinking we aren't allowed to use them in the comps, turns out we can...
It would have really helped out on the last course, probably preventing the breakage
It's on there now, this one was a proof of concept one for a front mount, I got plans for a more scale bumper setup, otherwise I may just mount it under the body.

Got some footage from course 2 and 3 and did a basic edit

How is the approach angle with that bumper? Also, what did you think of the current ride height?

I like the bumper, it has pretty good approach angle, a lot more by the wheels than really any other bumper commonly available.
Ride height is probably a touch high, I need to shorten the rear push rods for the cantilever so I can stiffen the springs a bit and not raise the rear anymore. After the first course I had to wind the preload a bit stiffer which nudged it right to the limit of class regs so a bit of tuning to be done.

Also due to how I mounted the rear cantilever suspension, there isn't very much actual compression as the rocker hits the body but does allow for a good amount of articulation and flex. So I'll have to work with that or adjust my mounting method.

How much thread are you showing on your threaded rods on the rockers.

In the video the truck looked pretty good. Are you running weights in the wheels or anything?

It's just a cantilever setup I put together, not the dinkyrc kit so it was just a size cut to suit, not sure on the length but I can easily make it shorter.

Thanks man, no weights in the silver set, a little bit in the steelies. I'm still waiting on my actual 1.9 wheels to show up, they are taking their sweet time..

The Jerp looks like it performs very well. What a beautiful place that you have to hold comps!

Thanks guys, really happy with it for just the second run.
I think I'm going to need to dial back the epa on the steering, that alone cost me a couple boundaries and rollovers I think looking back on the footage.
During my run I had no idea how I clipped the cone on the second course (the rock course) but you can see in the video it was simply from my steering lock at 4:40... Or maybe a bit more getting used to it
The bigger lock also can kick the shorter and top heavy rig around a bit when trying to get up obstacles like at the end of the video, first adjustment will be bringing the caster forward, then epa.

Overall I'm really happy with the setup :-)
