I really like your idea for using that diff for a winch!

Have any other pics of this? I have two axles that need this treatment.

Here is the original thread.

LCC infinite caster adapters (Incredible Hulksta mounts)

I believe he still sells the collars. I also think there is an updated version that is thicker at the c-hub screws and will not break as easily as the ones in the pics. Check here.

Paintchip31,

I am digging my beat up body. Only thing I don't like is the body mount holes. I was thinking about attaching two small hood scoops to cover them. A new body means I have to paint. The only thing I like about painting is the funny feeling I get while spraying in an unvented area.

After looking through my bag of spare Losi parts. I found that I had a pair of the infinite caster adaptors.

Tired of messing with the winch for a moment so I built a bed out of craft sticks, CA glue, and lots of paint.

I dug through my box o junk and found some Du-bro airplane control surface hinges to use on the tail gate. Glued them on.

This is one of the most unique builds I've seen in a long time. Lovin' it!

Turned a spool and attached it with a flat on the shaft, set screw, and blue Loctite. Used some 50# test braided fishing line. Drilled three holes in the side to retain the line instead of tying knots.

Used a Viking fairlead from RC4WD. Drilled through the bumper and put in some 5mm shoulder bolts. Chopped them off and ground flats on them to flush mount the fairlead. Drilled and tapped 2mm for the attachment. Looks a little goofy from the offset. I just wanted to center it up with the spool to make sure it worked well. Function before form around here. Or I am just lazy.

Here it is with the lid in place. Stuck some Velcro on the shift servo and underside of the hood.

Here is a short video of the winch in action. I must have had a knick in the line. Never had this stuff break easily. I usually straighten hooks with it.

As soon as the trans is disengaged for driving it is in free spool.

I ran it at a Guru comp yesterday. Found that I to find something better than the novak 21.5 to run it. Not nearly enough guts.
Also matching the wheel speed to the winch speed is not a good idea. It was lifting the rear end of the truck while cresting the top of a rock in my yard. More work to do for sure.
