Default Gelande 2 Cruiser from Alaska!

So I've been talking about wanting this new kit with the wife when they were first announced and it finally came in stock over at RPP Hobby a few days ago. 30 mins later after I saw it in stock, the wife sent me a picture of the order confirmation!

Thanks honey!

Anyways 4 days later and BOOM.
I received my G2 Cruiser today!

Got started on it right away and about 2 hours later,

She's officially a roller!

And for mock up purposes:

And now the body's turn!

Mocking up the body! Since this one is going to be a runner and get scratched up anyways, the lazy side of me is telling me too leave the tan color of the body and just paint the trims...

Idk. I just want to run her already xD

But then I might just go with the original plan and paint her red.

Finished painting! I wanted a tan/beige look kind of like this one..

And here she is!

I've also moved the front axle forward a couple mm.

I'm not done with the detailing yet and I know the paint isn't as smooth as it could be but this one will be a runner! There are lots of scratches heading it's way I'm sure.

And lastly, my scale "rc" for my scale RC! Complete with a full interior too!

Very nice! I always look at these when they pop up in build threads. I'll probably get one when they aren't new and cool anymore lol.

Lol I was going to get the D90 but these came out so figured I'd get the Toyota lol.

Took her out for her first run and she did awesome! A little adjusting even coming from the TF2 but I enjoyed it .

Pics!

And her first scratches!

Went out and took some pics! Also installed some MTZ's and 1.9 stamped wheels!
Also added 4oz of weights up front each wheel and about 3.5 on the rears.
Made a HUGE difference in stability!

Time for a repaint!

My uncle's painting his the same time as mine

Rust primer underlayer!!

Also smoothed out some scratches and mistakes from the first paint job.

Going to be taking our time on this one but I'll be going with a flat dark green look!
